Bingo!!! Give this man a cigar
because he nailed it correctly (along w/ a few others). After posting this question on a few forums, I was getting answers that were all over the place. So I figured a call to NAD was in order. There response was almost word for word as robfive's response.
By using the main in's the T773 is now strictly a power amp. All internal workings are completely bypassed in this configuration. No volumn, processing, etc. No different than if I was using a stand alone amp. In fact it could actually be used as a separate 7 channel amp if I so desired.
I'm just glad to know that I can still put it to good use if I decide to go with a pre/processor.
