Insignia box gone?

I was an early buyer of the Insignia box (LG/Zenith rebranded), and was hoping to "trade up" to a later version to get away from the audio bug.

But when I went to my local Best Buy the other day, they didn't even have a shelf sticker for it. Instead, they had shelving set aside for the Apex 250, but none in stock at all.

I asked the closest blue shirt guy what happened to the Insignia unit, he shrugged and said "I guess we don't sell them any more".

Oh, look at this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1209166340855

Insignia with analog pass through (NS-DXA1-APT) is "coming soon". That probably explains it.

Earlier this week, I saw quite a few of the original Insignia NS-DXA1 CECBs for sale at Best Buy, along with the Apex DT250 CECB. There are some interesting review comments at the Best Buy site. I suspect your regional Best Buy stores have exhausted their inventory of the earlier unit and are waiting to receive shipments of the replacement Insignia NS-DXA1-APT.

Unless a BB employee says "I don't know", you can't put much faith in anything they say. I've been waiting since Memorial Day for them to receive April/May production Insignia boxes. They always said, "any day now". Never happened. The only boxes that came in to the two local stores were Nov-Jan production. Then they said they wouldn't be carrying the Apex boxes. Amazingly, the Apex boxes hit the shelves the day their inventory of old Insignia boxes sold out. Now they say they won't be selling any more Insignia boxes because they've been replaced by the Apex. Uh-huh.

The Cary, NC BB has plenty of both - the old Insignia (March 2008 build) and the Apex. Kept in two differernt location in the store.

On the Zenith DTT901 thread WackyPacks has reported obtaining an Insignia analog pass through model of June 2008 production at a Best Buy store:

LMAO, this is THE quote of the week!! So true! If I could, I'd embroider it on a pillow. Can't count the number of times I've explained something *to* a BB or CC salesman about a product they're selling; the high school kid who "sold" me my first DVD recorder almost whipped out a pad to take notes on the virtues of the Panasonic DMR-E85H.

Still laughin' out loud.

What do you expect for $7./hr?
But, you also have to take into consideration the fact they got rid of commissioned salesmen who knew something along with reason to do so.
This is now what you wind up with. No pressure, but no knowledge.

If nothing else, at least basic honesty.

Did you ever think that attitude might of came from his employer? Employies attitudes are usually a reflection on how they are treated (and paid).
