I'm in the building stages on my media room, I would basically like to have a headphone jack to plug into that's on the other side of the room from the equipment rack. Still in the framing stage, so can do whatever is needed from a wiring perspective. My original plan was to simply run 3.5mm cable (available from monoprice) in a soffit across the room to where I want the headphone jack to be. Then I started thinking (or overthinking), and had some questions:
1) are there any issues with driving a headphone signal that far? It would be about 25' + whatever the length of the headphone cord is.
2) I'm not sure whether 3.5mm cable is rated for in-wall use, but I kind of doubt it. What are my other options here.
I'm guessing someone has done this, so hoping for some insights.
Thanks.

let me tell you what I’m thinking of in terms of cabling and headphone setup and see if this would work for you.
