Should I upgrade?

I currently have the Marantz 12s1 ( 11 foot screen). I'm interested in getting opinions about whether the upgrade to the Marantz 11s2 is worth it. I'm unable to see a demo of the Marantz - so all I have to go on are the specs and the dealer's assurances. Are the differences so significant that the untrained eye (my wife) will notice/appreciate?
I'm a bit of a novice - so forgive the generalities!

Yes...but with 1 note...it isn't cheap. The VP11S2 kills the VP12S1 in EVERY way. But as I said, it won't be cheap. So really the question comes down to what are you willing to pay to get an improvment, and what level of improvement are you wanting?

Thanks. I'm feeling more confident about it now. Overall brightness and diminished rainbow effect (I can still see it on the 12s1) will be very important.

Since I'll be graduating from 1080i to 1080P (using Blue Ray), I'm wondering who thinks there is significant improvement when viewed on an 11 foot screen. I've heard opposing arguments.

Backwords...you are graduating from 720p to 1080p...big difference.

It can be brighter, but it depends on the mode you are in for the iris and lamp. It can also be a bit dimmer. Regardless of the mode, it is better.

Rainbows will most certainly be better if anything.
