I've always thought that Ben Burtt had the greatest job! He is a contributor to the audio commentary tracks of the SW films. Am I wrong, or did he begin a rather new wave of actually creating new sounds rather than relying on existing libraries?

The digital sound systems in theaters are great, but the sound on a fine 70mm print of a film like The Empire Strikes Back in a fine theater was darned impressive in its day, huh?

Nice place Skywalker Sound, about 50miles north of me. Went up there for my home thx certification back during the laserdisc days. Back then it was $600 for certification. I'm sure its more expensive now..

The really nice place is their new SF Presidio digs
