I have searched and read and generally have a vey good knowledge of all of this stuff but I have read many conflicting statements all over the place so I will try to ask it clearly.
First off I understand the differences in the player decoding the Hi-Res audios and sending them out over analog or HDMI. My questions specifically is the following;
Are there any players out there that decode and send out over HDMI MCPCM DD-HD DTS-HD and DTS MA at thir full and unaltered bitrates etc? I know many over analog do and most everything I read tells me they do this over analog, but I have also read that if you have a MCPCM capable receiver (mine in question is a Yamaha RX-V1700 which does accept MCPCM over HDMI) that I am set as well.
If this has been answered before please forgive me but as there is so much conflicting information I wanted to come to this thread and ask it to get it straight. I currently have a Panasonic BDP-10A that I am thinking of gifting to my In-Laws (I currently have it hooked up HDMI and use the MCPCM setting, and it does sound great) and am thinking of picking up the Samsung BDP-2550 or the Panasonic DMP-BD55K. To get all of the Hi-Res audio formats out of the player will I need to go all analog or will the MCPCM carry the Hi-Res audio over HDMI the same way as the analogs will. If these players do not do this is there any players in the same range that do this?
Thank those of you who know the answer ahead of time and work with me here as I have TRIED to find the ANSWER but there is just too much conflicting information for me to be 100% secure and I really do need to know the answer.
Thanks in advance.
