Renovation - What to do with Pioneer 5080?

I am going to be doing a house renovation very soon and I am not sure what to do with the pioneer tv. My options are: (1) place it in a locked container that will hold other household goods that is made of metal and will be in direct sunlight at all times (2) place it in an area of my house that work is not supposed to be done but that could get damaged or worse, the tv could grow legs and start walking (if you know what I mean) (3) attempt to move the tv to another house and hope that it doesn't get damaged there.

Right now, I am leaning towards the locked container (it does have some ventilation) but I am worried about the heat factor as where I live it can easily get to 30 degrees celcius throughout August-September.

I still have the original box, styrofoam, etc so I can still use all of that no matter what I plan to do.

What would be the best course of action? When you respond please consider, as I have been, the safety, security and of course, heat factor, that the tv could be facing. And no, the tv is not for sale, I like it way too much.

30 deg. C will not be any problem at all. Heck man, where do you live where that container will be "in direct sunlight at all times" -- where I live, it gets dark almost half the time . . .

I'm referring to the fact that if it is sunny outside then the container will be in that sunlight. The container is not in any shade whatsoever. Sorry if I misled you. I live in southwestern ontario, canada where it can get over 30 + humidity on a fairly regular basis.

As long as you're not running the tv at those temps you should be just fine.

Afternoon "Sir"

Here's a couple of thoughts; first, the heat will not affect the TV, even in direct sunlight. Secondly, put the TV back in the box (you said you still have the box), get ahold of a few "damaged" stickers and place in several spots on the box. No one will be tempted to "borrow" a broken TV; this will take away any intrigue/curiosity someone may have. Of course, do make sure that it will not be anywhere near the work being done. Remodeling is enough of a strain, you don't need the added concern of damage or theft to your plasma. Good luck!

rent a small (5x5 or 5x10) storage unit for all your items (including the set) you don't want damaged/stolen. Worth the extra $200 or so for the 3 months you'll use it. Most places will give you 1 month free even...
