'True Blood' in HD on HBO - Page 9

Rome was a fantastic series. It's a shame that HBO DVD sets are just so comparatively expensive.

It was one of the best series I have ever seen on TV. Top notch!

This show is just getting better every week, I thought last week was the best ep so far, but tonight's was better. It's getting pretty close if not at the top of my most awaited show of the week.
Yeah, it's become our favorite show of this new season as well. It's the only one we actually watch on the day it premieres; can't wait. And there was that dog again, standing watch along with Bill, who didn't even seem surprised to see it there.

The episode last night was great. I can't help...I crave spoilers now!

I don't believe we've heard the story of what happened to Sookie and Jason's parents... I wonder if it's going to play into the story

just when I thought the episode last night would be original enough to show Sookie's beautiful naked body instead of her brother's, they had to continue with trend and show naked Jason once more time at the end, geez

so will Sookie turn into a vampire? as my wife pointed out to me last night, she did drink his blood when he saved her in the 2nd episode, or does she only turn into a vampire if she drinks vamp blood AFTER she's been bitten and drained
I thought it was simple as you get bitten by a vamp, you become a vamp, but this show has made so many exceptions to the rule I can't keep track

BTW, I loved it when Sookie's friend kicked everyone out of Sookie's house after the funeral, and she gave the look to the overweight lady who was last to leave

As others mentioned, it appears that True BLood is following the convention that you need to be drained near death (or until it is imminent without intervention), then drink the blood of the Vamp to be made into a new Vamp.

I think last night's episode was the best of the series. There was a little more insight into the various characters. This episode really exposed more of Tara and her relationships with her mother, Sookie, Jason and Sam. I hope they shine more of a light onto Jason, Sam and Lafayette in the future.

Anna Paquin

Damn good episode...next week looks even better

I laugh at some of the strangest things in this show, but the one that tickled my funny bone last night was after Sookie told everybody to STFU, after she left the minister got back up and said 'Well' ... for some reason that just had me rolling.
What the hell is up with that dog?!?
I can't believe Anna did a nude scene that was obviously her. For some reason I never thought she would actually do it.

My guess is that Sam is a shapeshifter.

Nope, we've seen Sam and the dog together. I'm betting Sam was raised by wolves, thus has a special connection with those of the canine persuasion. He's got this dog looking out for Sookie. I think Bill may suspect, or even know, this.

Agreed. My jaw dropped when I saw that.

I'm glad I have a DVR because Dexter's on at the same time, and I don't want to wait for repeat showings.

Let's just say that there is more than Vampires in this series!
Maybe Sam is a Werewolf ?? They hate vampires, right ?? And Sookie said his thoughts are different from everyone elses....

And who killed Sookie's Gramdma ???
As Archi pointed out, we've already seen Sam and the dog in a scene together, so there is something else going on here other than a standard shapeshifter/werewolf thing.

Color me also pleasantly surprised by the Ana Paquin scene at the end of the last episode.

Heh, Sam.

If you suspect there are shapshifters or were's in this series, and that Sam may be one, but dismiss this because Sam and a dog have been seen together -- are you sure you keep seeing the same dog?

Are you saying you know the answer to this or are you just asking the question. If you know the answer...I would like to know as well.
Well I know the answer, but don't want to spoil anything by thinking out loud about the way the show is setting it up. The show writers might haul off in a different direction...although they haven't done that much at all so far.

Somewhat detailed spoiler if you can stand it.

The answer is yes. In this universe there are all sorts of were's, shifters, and some other things, but only the vampires are out of the closet and in the public eye. Sam is one such being, but true to his character he's a loner. Others are more 'pack' oriented. Sookie herself is even a little more special, but let's not let that out.

Edit: And vampire Bill has already dropped the dime for the audience.

All of this is dependent on how much the HBO show follows what's been written. The big shifter reveal might be a season cliff hanger - should be fun to follow it all though.

Was a big fan, I never thought she would do it either. Next we need to see what Tara's got. I hate when they have love scenes and the women keeps the bra on, what is up with that? It's like in Desperate Housewives where all the women have sex in LaPerla lingere (though obviously DH can't show anything because they are on broadcast tv)

Not as good as last week, but oh my gawd, Lizzy Caplan.

Good episode

I'd forgot about Cloverfield, she was on the short lived 'The Class' and also on the short lived 'WB' or 'CW' show, Related one of four sisters along w/Jennifer Esposito, Kiele Sanchez(the LOSTee Nikki, that showed up in the later season and was promptly put in the ground and Laura Breckenridge.

Anyone got any high def screenshots of Lizzy Caplan from last night's episode to upload ?? WOW, that chick was HOT ...

TB gets better with each episode...

Been watching Lizzy for years, was surpised to see her on the cast. Love what I did see, hope she is around for more

Who ever is playing Tara's mother is doing a damn fine job at it. She makes you believe she is a drunk and possessed. Over all I find her to be the best at acting on the show. I think she is a very fine actress

Did anybody catch the radio in the background saying it was a "full moon tonight". Then Sam running naked through the woods in the morning.

Yes and busted out laughing. If Sam is not, they are sure messing with the viewers!
