'True Blood' in HD on HBO - Page 84

Perhaps the Mavis story line served only to reinforce the fact that Lafayette could act as a medium and Jesus was in some way able to convince the occupying spirit to depart. That sets up L&J to ride in and save the day by (somehow) defeating the witch using their powers.

Or a bull elephant. Even with a pack of wolves, it would just stomp them all to death. But the best idea would be to change into a small insect like a gnat, and then fly into one of the wolves mouths, and then change into a really big animal and watch the wolf explode from the inside out. It would also be cool to change into a porcupine a split second before one of the wolves tried to jump on you.

OK, that's just wrong....

Gay, ethnic Ghostbuster duo. Gotta be a TV first...I like it!

I thought I remembered that from back when they introduced the shifter concept.

This is what drives me insane about TB. There is no logic or reason for some of these character's actions.

Like some have said about this season, the good scenes are really good but the bad scenes are really bad and there are more of them.

With the exception of Russel, the villains have gotten more lame every year. This last episode had an abundance of eye-rolling moments, and the effort to keep Lafayette and Tara involved at least peripherally in the plotline is painful to watch.

Tara is almost always painful to watch and Lafayette has lost his previous comedic spark of interest with this new plot line for him. The way they keep mentioning Russell in one way or another gives me faint hope that they may well resurrect his character in some way at the end to fight the witches and tease for next season. With all the silly plot stretches, bringing Russell back from the "true death" shouldn't pose much of a problem.

A- Russell never met the "true death". He's parked under a bunch of concrete, his final words before being buried..."you will reget this, Eric...I will be back!!!"

Dennis O'Hare has already confirmed that Alan Ball intends to bring Russell back for sure in Season 5 - possibly making an appearence/reveal @ the end of the current season

That's funny. Russel was my least favorites villain. He just annoyed me! I liked this last episode it had some cheesy moments but overall was good. Those who are complaining about the soap opera nature of the show and how the characters are acting I wonder why you started watching it? It has been overlly dramatic and soap opera-ish to start with. Its only fault is continually trying to top itself.

Agreed. Though the show was much better in Season 1 because that plot was pretty grounded. I don't think it went full on camp until the zombie event with the Maenad at the end of Season 2. I thought the first half with the church was very in line with the more serious tone of Season 1.

Russel was a disaster and I hope he stays dead. This season has been much better than last season for my money, at least as far as the overall plot involving the witches goes. Having Andy addicted to V is stupid, and the medium stuff with Lafayette is beyond stupid.

+1

TB is an open-ended, dramatic series, it is SUPPOSED to be Soap Opera-ish.
I am surprised anybody would be surprised by this....

ranking of villians from best to worst:..Marnie/Antonia...Russell Edgington...Rene...and lastly Maryann Forrester

people like Steve Newlin and Lorena weren't season long bad guys so they aren't on the list...both of them had their good moments though

I would switch Rene and Russell Edgington. Other than that, it's perfect.

the problem with Rene was that the audience didn't even know he was the killer until the last episode...so he loses points for that in my book

Leave it.

If you look back there were hints about Rene they were just extremely subtle.

Good episode tonight. Nice twist with Marnie. Wish the season had a better start but looks like a good finish. Finally done with Tommy!!

I wished Tommy would had died quicker so we could get to the show down against the witch and the vampires.
gonna be honest, I skipped Tommy's death scene...it was taking too long.
And we all are certain Tommy is dead????
I have no idea...skipped it. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if that particular character died though.
Glad to see Tommy gone, took too long though. The V-blood intervention with Andy at the 'fort' was a bit dumb as well. But, there were some interesting stories moved forward and some good dialogue and one liners. One small thing I thought was funny was the banner at the Tolerance Convention for Vamps during the fight at the beginning: 1-800-DENTIST. And later, Jessica: "f'ing humans; I'm going to find something to eat!"

And while the "grown-up" vamps are bickering and sniping with other about who's going to get the True Death etc., Jessica just says "I don't care as long as I get to kill something." She's great.
"You don't remember nothin, you were a baby stupid." lol

Oh Snap, it's on now... :flips on douche music LP:
Closing scene w/ our 4 vamps in paramilitary gear, headed to take out Marnie....I began to wonder....where is Blade?

Curious to see how well Jessica handles that RPG.

Also - for those not spoiler-phobic, AICN.com has posted the TV Guide info for the remaining 2 epsiodes, including a tease for the finale cliffhanger.

I really detest season-ending cliff hangers, it's just lame. But it looks like that's what we're getting.

every season has ended on a cliffhanger...Season 1 with the dead body falling out of the car...Season 2 with Bill getting kidnapped...Season 3 with Sookie off to fairy land
