What are the odds that Erik dicn't really burn up on the ice mountain, but either Pam arrives and they dive under the snow or he figures it out for himself. What a maroon. He had 2 or 3 seconds to burrow down into 30ft. of snow and out of the sun.

I would imagine that would depend on a successful contract renegotiation. wink.gif

Yep. Although if he doesn't come back I wish he would have gotten a better send off than that.

I've had a season pass on True Blood since season 1, but I am going to put it on a very tight leash next season. I don't know if I can handle another zombie show, vampire or otherwise.
was last night the season finale? it sure felt like it, especially with no preview at the end of the credits?
I also agree that I highly doubt we've seen the last of Eric. More likely that Pam swooped in and got him out of the sunlight

Yes it was. Only ten episodes this year.
what a hot mess that was!...disaster on so many levels!...I thought the first half of the episode was awful and less-awful after the '6 months later' marker...where to start...so are they saying that since Warlow's blood was not synthesized that there cannot be any more Tru Blood for vampires to drink?...thereby they need humans to feed?...I thought Hep V was only transmitted through the tainted Tru Blood, so how could humans become a carrier?...and why are there roaming bands of Hep V infected vamps when the effects take hold pretty fast like when Nora died

I absolutely hate Violet (Jason's girlfriend)...she is being featured like she's been on the show from the beginning...she needs to go...horrible decision to rename Merlotte's Bar and Grill into Bellefleur's...Merlotte's was an iconic spot on the show...again they went way overboard with the tributes to Terry and this was the final thing that pushed it over the edge...the Warlow character went through so many drastic changes throughout the course of the season...bad guy...no, good guy...wait let's make him really bad again...I thought the decision to change showrunners in the middle of the season would stabilize things but it just got worse...where was Sarah Newlin?...not even a cameo in the finale?...hope she comes back next season

I did like the scene between Tara and her mother...the Eric cameo was the only other semi-interesting scene but it's obvious Pam rescued him and he's not dead...actually the nudity was also nice but a little over-the-top...almost felt like a soft porn movie...yes I'm still going to watch Season 7 but the show has hit bottom and can only get better
post #3581 of 3651
My wife was gratified with Eric's nude scene! A full frontal! biggrin.gif
post #3582 of 3651

Horrible.  And the preview of Zompires as the new "big bad" for next season has left a bad taste in my mouth.  That they would devote only about 10 seconds to Eric's story but several boring minutes each to Tara/Mom, Alcide and Sam tells me a lot.  New showrunners were supposed to get this back on track by the last part of this season.  Fail.

Alan Ball isn't running the show any more is it?

And Werlow waited 5000 years for Sookie?

Pretty much agree with the mess. I really didn' t like Warlow's changing personalities. Another split personality was Alcide. He went from psychopath to buddies with Sam again (after threatening to kill him if he ever showed up in Bon Temps again) to Mr. sensitive with Sookie. As to Violet, her character is annoying but she is hot so the ruling is that she stays. Probably exactly what Jason needs (like a love drill instructor) and I liked how she treats family. Agree about the Hep V infected vamps who should be dying not ravaging the countryside.

I don't see how Pam could save Eric. If she were flying around in the daylight, it seems like she would burn up faster. I thought Eric would immediately go to ground but he just stood there screaming and was completely enveloped in flames. If they were consistent (waiting for Oink and others to pounce on me for this) with this, Eric would be dead quickly. He was in a high altitude and on reflective snow so he should immolate quickly. I don't think they will kill him however which I have mixed feelings about. I don't want Eric to die but I hate this type of crap.

I do have to say that the show was entertaining this season if not infuriating at its glitches and inconsistencies. Banshee shows you can make an entertaining show that defies logic. They have a lot more leeway here with this magical story. Just feel free to pick one tone and stay with it instead of all the bouncing around. And get rid of all the boring awful side stories.

So Eric is dead eh? **** this show then...
this series is looking more like a DVD rental. Especially with all the other shows starting next month. kec8

Eric is a lot stronger than any of those vampires. Before this final episode, besides Billith and Warlow, he was the strongest vampire (since he was the oldest).

Now, if he survived after the finale, that would make him the strongest vampire, since Warlow is dead and Bill is back to normal.
And Godric was more powerful than Eric but burned up quickly.

If they wanted Eric gone - he'd be shown as a pile of ash.

We never saw what happened to Pam.

Do the math.
The only important math is that Eric is a main character so hugely likely that they won't kill him unless the actor is leaving the show to do something else. All I've pointed out is the fact that they will once again do something totally inconsistent with previous events.
I know of another show that's just as inconsistent... #coughwalkingdead#cough

We have no idea if there are other vampires out there older then Erik, to assume he is now the oldest is not accurate.

So many things wrong with this episode, lets just chalk it up to a boring failure and hope they can do better next season after all the negative press.

Just as inconsistent? Seriously? How have TWD zombies changed?
Still dead-ish? Check.
Still slowly shuffling around? Check.
Still hungry for human flesh? Check.
Still dispatched with a bullet/knife/icepick/etc. to the brain? Check.

plus if a major character like Eric died they wouldn't kill him off thousands of miles away from Bon Temps on some isolated mountain by himself...they would make a bigger deal out of it and show other characters mourning or at least reacting to his death...hell if Terry's death deserved an entire episode dedicated to his memorial plus the renaming of Merlotte's into Bellefleur's then Eric's funeral should last for 2 episodes and they should rename Bon Temps into Northmans

Yeah. redface.gif

On the plus side, there was a Michael Filipowich sighting! He was the "leader" of the pack of Hep-V vamps marching on the swinging party at Merlott...um, Bellefleur's bar in the last scene before the fade out. Last seen as the awesome, second-leading-man "01 Boxer" in the most-awesome and much-lamented 'Charlie Jade'. Which leads me to believe that character will have a fairly large role next season. You don't cast a guy like that to just be one of the bloody chorus.

I'm still hung up on the fact that Sam, who has not shown one iota of political ambition (hell, he has always seemed to want no attention on himself all series), is able to become mayor in a mere 6 months.

Did they say he was mayor?

I must have been so busy trying not to poke my eyes out to be able to stop watching that I missed that.

Yup, at that town meeting in the church, the one pastor introduced him as mayor.
