I just bout the monster ps3 hdmi cable and I get good picture out of it from my ps3 to my 4year old big screen projection hdtv. my only problem is I cant get any sound out of my cable. when i tried to set up the aduio output it says that this hdmi device cannot use audio but the package says otherwise. I have an adapter to convert my tv's dvi to hdmi and I am not sure where the prolem lies. I also tried reseting the ps3 system so I could change the hdmi seting to use video and aduio but it didn't work either. Some body please help me.

DVI doesn't carry audio, so if you've converted HDMI to DVI, youi need to run separate audio cables as well.

If you have to use a HDMI to DVI converter to your TV, that means that you have no HDMI input in your TV. HDMI carries audio; DVI connections do not. Even though you can use the converter for video, that doesn't magically create the ability for your TV's DVI input to accept audio.

You need to use a different connection for audio, and I'm going to assume that your TV just has analog (r/l inputs, white/red), which you'd have to use, unless my assumption's wrong and you have an optical audio input on your TV.

Let us know what make/model your TV is, and I'm sure we could find out what audio options you have.

Edit: Dang, I got beat!

Your TV only supports stereo sound, run analog audio cables from the PS3 to it.

Also, unless there is some special HDMI cable needed, take the Monster one back and buy a less expensive one from some place like Monoprice. The video is digital, don't need a high end cable for it.
