Sharp sl-5500 PDA as universal remote control

I have a Sharp SL-5500 PDA and would like to use it as a universal remote control for my HTPC. I checked out some of the forums but nothing that seems compatible with my PDA. I've seen many use remote controller II and others, but they don't seem to work the SL-5500. Any suggestions???? I even googled this question and I was recommended on downloading OPIE-REMOTE. But I don't think that it is still available. If no one has any answer to this question, can you recommend a PDA and software that worked for you. Thanks for any help.
