OK Guys, I need quick input & options. Here is what is going on....

I am selling my house of which I just finished my HT, ugh. I am going to keep my new Sony-VW60 & Panamorph UH380 but need to purchase a inexpensive projector to hang in it's place! What can I use that will be LOW COST?

Here is my current setup:
- Sony VW60 (Keep)
- Panamorph UH380 (Keep)
- Carada BW 2:35 112" (44" CIH) screen
- Throw is 14'6" (projector lens to screen)
- Ceiling mount = to top of screen

What I want is a low cost projector replacement that can be zoomed for 2:35so I can keep my lens also.

Thanks

Mark

Any newer LCD will do Poor Man's CIH for the screen. But why not just keep the screen, buy a low priced DLP and a 16:9 screen. That should be well under $900 total for new. Or buy on ebay for probably under $500. The problem with keeping your screen, is you then have to teach the new owners how to use it and all about CIH. I'd want to make it as simple as possible.

And if you don't want the screen, you can probably sell that for a decent amount of money, perhaps paying for most of a new projector and low priced screen.

hey maybe you could rig up a cheap screen and pair it with a mits hc 1500 or 1600 or maybe for better throw an epson powerlite home cinema 720. a pull down from elite screens may work well enough and its easy to use and move. someone adversities on avs for projection screen material, buildyourownprojectorscreen.com or something like that, material is fine and i bought it for myself because of budget constraints

Now, how did that happen?

Buy something refurb or used off ubid/ebay/craigslist (if you are in a metro area). There are other sites selling on the cheap as well for refurb business PJs. Since most people will be blown away by any modern PJ, I don't think you need to be too picky (but, if you want to be kind, the ms-live 25% discount thru e bay definitely can off set your low-end investment

A few months ago. I sold my fixed-mounted screen and PJ with my house and I really miss having the big screen & theater experience. My new house isn't really configured for a PJ, but I still miss it...
