I have a problem with my 2 year old European Kuro KRP-600A, which I believe is the PRO-151FD in North America.
After a 120 hour burn-in, the TV has been calibrated by a professional with colorfacts. I was - and still am - very satisfied with the result. But somehow the black level never seemed right to me.
In very dark scenes, the black bars look almost grey (given that my room is absolutely dark)!
My main setup for watching Blu-rays is: BDP-LX52 -> Onkyo TX-SR875 -> KRP-600A
I added 2 photos, which give you an idea of what I mean (the scene is from the first LotR, on the bridge where the Balrog comes). It is clearly visible that the black bars are much brighter than the black brezel of the TV.
I tried all kinds of settings and different sources (Blu-ray player: Pioneer BDP-LX52, Popcorn Hour A110, PS3...), all with the same result (the calibrated settings are by far the best).
I always tested in an absolutely darkened
Do you think there is a problem with my panel? If yes, is there anything I can do?
Thanks in advance for your help.
