Questions like that many times are never seen in the forum, if the person they asking no longer follows the thread. And even PM's through this forum can be missed.

It would be much better to send D-Nice a email asking about that.

I really would like to know what most who own or have calibrated a FD101 would be use. I have had one new on my MB wall since last yr. I have a FD110 too in my great room which has been calibrated and can tell even prior to the 101 being calibrated everything looks richer in color and the set has more depth. I have been using settings i have found on here but know it really should have a proper cal. I even have the free BB cal that i have never done when i purchased it, not sure i would want them to mess with that TV or any of my TV's for that matter. I don't think i have ever seen D-Nice settings on his 101 on here or anybody post their settings after he cal their 101? This is kind of where i'm at on it, i even read somewhere, just can't remeber which post that D-nice knows how to tweak this set to where the blacks get even better than most cal...? anyone have his settings for the 101 or D-Nice could comment himself, just not sure how often he is on here or if he would share them with me. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

I have just recently calibrated my 101 with an old hd dvd player and I could not help but notice that they seem to look better than blu rays running off an Oppo BDP-93. I dont know why but the image appears more fluid, organic, and detailed on the HD-A35 toshiba. It looked like I was watching movies straight off film. Movies I watched were King Kong and Matrix reloaded. For some reason I do not get the same type of pic out of the Oppo or a PS3.

I have played around with all of the oppo's settings and have found that setting it to source direct/24p/ and leaving it on RGB 16-235 seem get the best results in the end picture. I have tried all other combinations of settings but none of them look like what I was seeing out of the HD DVD player.

With the Oppo at those settings and a properly calibrated display, you going to have a hard time finding something else that shows whats coming off the disc more "correctly". If you don't like that, well you'll have to play around and tweak till you find what you're looking for.

Just did a quick back and fourth comparison with I am Legend and the oppo does look a little better. Nevermind I guess.

I just got my PRO 101FD professionally calibrated yesterday by Dave Abrams. I have to say that the results were nothing short of spectacular. Colors are dead nuts accurate. Big difference. In the end, I was left with ISF Day, ISF Night, Black&White Mode and Pure Mode that I can tweak to my liking. He was very professional in every way and I highly recommend him to anyone thats thinking of getting their KURO calibrated.

From time to time, I look at what other AVSers have up for sale in the Classified area of the forum, and I've noticed that lately there are quite a few Pioneer PDPs, mainly the last 9G (and "9.5G") series, up for sale.

Right now, I could never imagine selling my PRO-111FD. Does anyone here have any idea what would cause a significant increase in the number of Pio Kuros being sold off in the Classifieds? Has a "Kuro killer" finally arrived unbeknownst to me?

I think some people need liquid funding, sooner than later.

Thanks for your calibration report. I've added it to the owner's reports list (post # 2) linked at the bottom of my post.

Somebody would have to offer me a ridiculous amount of money for my 151FD for me to even think of parting with it...I have zero interest in any display currently out now

Does anybody know if the 101fd has the same RGB bug as the 500m?

I wonder how the new Sharp Elite 60 & 70 inch LED LCD TV's are going to stack up against Pioneer's Kuro technology.

Off-axis viewing and color fidelity not as good.

Most are selling their 50" for the 60" or 70" sharp elite. Even some 60" kuro owners.

Just a guess based on how many kuro owners i've heard doing that.

I don't know what they see though. Rÿche 1 said it best. Theres just no way im selling my 151. While the sharp elite is a excellent set, i honesty don't see a reason to go selling your kuro. It offers no PQ improvement over the kuro from what i've seen in person.

But for 2012 Sharp releases an 80", no?

Does anyone know of anyone in the Allentown Pennsylvania area worthy of calibrating my 500m?

I called all the ISF dealers (on ISF Website) in 100 miles of my home and only two answered. Ed's TV and Best Buy. The guy at Ed's TV told me that the calibration service was $400 but also suggested my 500m didn't require calibration. He said "They are perfect out of the box!"

Best Buy... $199... needs to call me back to verify they can do it!

Please help.

The best calibrators do tours. Start with someone who has a good reputation here at AVS and then contact them to find out if they tour your area. D-Nice and UMR would be a good starting point.

You can use the link at the bottom of my post for list of reports. Anyone who has done a lot of Pioneer displays should be good. For those reports look in the second post.

I wouldn't use anyone who thinks a display is the best it can be out of the box or anyone who works for BB.

I am very excited to hear D-Nice will be in my neck of the woods...I really didn't want to give any money to the geek-squad!
