Hi,
I have been debating between Sharp LC-52D64U and the Samsung LN52A550.
After about an hour of seeing the models side-by-side it seems the picture quality is very similar. I did notice some interlacing artifacts on the samsung when viewing a 480p signal but the sales rep kept telling me that's because something's wrong with their HDMI cable. Both models are very similarly priced.
The key differences to me are:
Sharp:
- very matte screen (even the samsung has a matte screen but the sharp one seems more matte. my living room has lots of windows)
Samsung:
- has a usb port that can be used to hookup my camera, ipod
- this year's model?
For some reason the sales reps at best buy as well as fry's kept recommending the samsung over sharp. I wonder if they get a better margin on the sammy.
Does anyone here have an opinion on these models?
Thanks.
