Need Help KV-36XBR450 Component Trouble

Well, my 27" Sony died two days ago and I just scored a Sony KV-36XBR450 with the stand locally for only $350.

Now, I seem to be having trouble hooking up everything via component. My system is made up of:

Sony KV-36XBR450
Motorola DVR Cable Box
Panasonic HTIB

When I run component directly from the cable box to the TV, the picture is nothing but a bunch of diagonal flashing lines.

Can anybody suggest what I may be doing wrong?

Is this happening on SD and HD inputs? Is your DVR an HD or SD DVR? What resolution are you sending the set? FWIW, a few of the early XBRs may not have accepted 720p as an HD input.

Right now I only have an SD signal. The box itself is an HD box, but I have not added access to the HD channels yet.

Pretty sure my TV accepts everything up to 1080i.

Also, I don't know if I can change the resolution?

the previous owner probably screwed up the mid settings in the service menu you can try the following service manual:

That set does not accept 720p as an input.
