Speaker Setup for my TV Room

I would like to just try posting some pictures of my current setup which has been in place for a long time.. and have been waiting for a while to set myself up for a nice home theater-esque room. The questions I will be posting if your willing to help will be extremely general in nature and VERY SIMPLE compared to the stuff I've been reading through.

I was looking @ the TX-T12 Speakers. (which i posted pictures of below) That being said, being very new to this - I'm unsure if these type of speakers, relating to their size will be suitable for a room I'm dealing with where the couches are setup. Will something relating to these speakers be too overwhelming for anyone sitting in the corner of the couch. Do you feel that mounting the speakers like i have the very old bose speakers set up would be most efficient. For Example the Onkyo HT-S5100 speakers. I know I'm speaking very generally here and am not specifically looking for recommendations relating to speakers unless you feel necessary, I'm just looking to form some opinions from here.

I originally posted this in another section and asked this question - I'm curious to see if someone can guess it just as fast, in the FAR LEFT SEAT VIEWING picture, there is a music album upright against the DVD rack, can anybody name that album.
