Thats it exactly. I was trying to change it to .ts after editing with TME. My thought that using the program would be a better way than just changing the extension. As far as why I was trying that......ive been capturing everything as .ts and archiving to a hd in that format. Not sure if that is the best format to capture in and save as after reading what mozartman had to say, but they play well and I figure I could change them later if needed. tsmuxer has even given me a few errors even when adding .ts files. sometimes it says "unsupported format-some tracks not recognized. The track was ignored." Obviously referring to the audio as that is what is ignored. then i put the same file in multiavchd (just to view properties because I dont know how to use it) and it reads it fine, showing 6 channel audio. I realize that these may be some of the reasons alot of you guys ended up with videoredo. Probably will end up getting it soon.
