I could not find the channel line-up for Dish Turbo anywhere else, so here it is.

$24.99 -

A&E HD
Disney (E)
HDNet
TBS in HD
ABC Family

What's the better value? The $24.99 package plus the $10 extra for a total of $34.99, or the $32.99 package?

Would HD Net Movies, MGM HD, and Universal HD equal about one premium movie channel like HBO or Showtime?

Personally, I think the $10 platinum package is kind of a rip-off since they took away the Voom channels. MGM and HDNet Movies are good for OAR stuff. HDNet Movies also shows first run of many Magnolia titles before they hit the theaters. IMHO, Universal HD is questionable once the Olympics finish. Universal HD does not always show its movies in OAR. Moreover, they have commercials now. MHD/Palladia is no longer part of platinum?

An even better question. What is a better buy?

Option #1) 7 HD channels (HD Net Movies, NBA TV, Smithsonian HD, World Fishing Network, MGM HD, NHL Network, Universal HD) for $10

OR

Option #2) 9 HBO channels for $14.99 HBO (East) HBO Family HBO (West) HBO Latino HBO2 (East) HBO Signature HBO2 (West) HBO HD HBO Comedy

OR

Option #3) 6 Cinemax channels for $14.99 StarMAX Cinemax (West) ActionMAX MoreMAX Cinemax (East) Cinemax HD

While the Dish TurboHD packages look attractive, there's one big snag. What you buy is what you get -- forever. If additional HD channels are added, tough luck to you, Mr. TurboHD Buyer.

The workaround is to get a TurboHD package plus an American Top x package. If any channel in your American Top x package later becomes available in HD, you'll get it in HD also.

The TurboHD pricing certainly looks attractive though.

It's not the $2 bucks. It is two different packages with 7 different channels. I suppose one could get the $40 package then add on the $10 HD Net package, then add on a $10 premium movie channel. But then it's no longer $35 bucks, it becomes $70 or $80 to get everything, add in locals and a DVR and extra recievers and it could go over $100 bucks.

I guess I shouldn't have mentioned money and asked which group of channels has better programming? How good are the movies on Lifetime Movie Network HD or Bravo? Or are there better movies on Universal HD and HD Net Movies. Or is it better to just buy a premium movie channel like HBO?

There are lots of people who don't want every channel. We just want a couple extra movies more than what OTA broadcasts.

That is not likely, the HD only Turbo tiers mirror the HD channels in the equivalent Americas Top package. For example Bronze gets you the same HD channels as if you bought Top 100 and added the $10 HD package. The $10 Platinum add on is also the same.

I've had dish 150 for years and will be adding HD and dvr soon-considered the $10 pk only because of the smithsonian, but decided no. do a search and check out the programming and be honest with yourself, because they want a contract and a CC#.
The best thing I have done was join netflix....

That is 100% wrong like the other poster pointed out.

Turbo HD Bronze = Top 100 + HD option
Turbo HD Silver = Top 200 + HD option
Turbo HD Gold = Top 250 + HD option.

Then you can add the same platinum upgrade to all the turbo packages as Top packages have.

Just so you know people who got Dish HD Absolute which was discontinued on 8/1 for Turbo HD package got grandfathered into HD Gold + Platinum and will be getting all new HD channels added to either tier going forward except no RSN.

Big question is do you want RSN or not as RSN are only included in the Turbo HD Silver or Turbo HD Gold package and not Turbo Bronze package.
