Poker Table Plans

Thread Starter
Does anyone have a good set of Poker Table plans that they have made... I know there are quite a few floating around on the net, but I tend to trust the AVS crowd I'm ideally looking for an octagon table... feel free to post pictures

not an octagon, but this is the one I'm ordering this weekend

you can build them like this, but this has free shipping and looks pretty solid

I would highly recommend speed cloth http://www.pokersuppliesltd.com/ instead of felt. With speed cloth I don't think it really matters what color just pick what you like best. If you look at the picks above you can see the speed cloth I used.

that stuff is classy looking too!

Wow that is some really nice work.

It really stands up to wear and tear. I don't regret spending the little extra at all.

Whisky>Work, did you end up getting your table from Flop2River? If so, mind giving us your impressions?

I held off because I'm considering a more high end table. While this one looks very nice, I want something where the legs are somewhat ornate for lack of a better word and centered in the middle of the table.

I used black felt on my table. Sorry cant find any pics right now. I use a lint roller on it before my games. I think it looks good.

Use speed cloth. Originally I chose felt, and although the cards slid okay, the felt just didn't look right. Next choice looked a lot like suede, it looked great, but cards wouldn't slide at all. I finally broke down and did things correctly. Speed cloth makes it look like a poker table, and the cards slide perfectly. Don't cheap out or you'll end up replacing it down the road anyways.

Take a look at this thread I put together over at woodworkingtalk.com. This was an octagonal poker table I built and the thread includes a LOT of picture as well as details about how I'd do it differently if I did it again. It was a really fun project to build and it turned out to be a very nice table.

that's a cool looking table you built there!

Thanks. I'm pretty damned proud of it. It is the first woodworking project I've ever attempted. After a few really good nights at the table, it's pretty much paid for.

nice. I like those "free" nights myself

Lol. Yeah, it makes the table that much better.

Speking of poker, I've been visiting the Mohegan Sun Casino (which is near where I live) a bit lately as they just opened up a poker room. It just feels good having the confidence that I'm going to go in there with some money, and walk out of there with more money. With the winnings I've had, I've already bought a PS3 (I needed a Blu-Ray player and heard that the PS3 is a damn good one, and also having the ability to play video games is nice) and the next thing I'm going to tackle is to get a good AVR and then some speakers. Currently, my setup has some DAMN good computer speakers (Midiland S4s) hooked up to it and it sounds great, but it doesn't have a true receiver in it and so I'm limited in what I can hear with regards to audio tracks. My new roommate (renting out a spare room in my house to a friend of mine) has been building speakers for at least ten years and said he could build be some good quality speakers that will work well in my house. I've seen, and heard, the results of his work and it is pretty damned good. I figure on some months I can decide not to charge rent if he builds me a couple of speakers.

have him make the speakers for you, then take him fishing and push him overboard!
have him make the speakers for you, have him make a sail boat, take him fishing in the sail boat, and push him overboard! now you have more than just speakers
