Not when the 103PF11UK will be produced.

My evolution from my old TV, a 5 year old, 50 inch RCA Scenium DLP was easy. I moved the old RCA into my bedroom and gave the TV that was there, a 21 year old Pioneer 40 inch rear projector, to my housekeeper's daughter.

Boy a 6020 would also look nice in my den I might be able to swing moving the 50PZ85U into the living room but I'll probably wait a couple of more months before bringing that up Of course if I get lucky and somebody buys my other set I'd be good to go

Man what a vicious cycle...

Just pulled the trigger on the TH-58PZ800U. Great price.. Should be here on Monday.

Thanks Chris!

I think the full glass covering panel and bezel is the Future.

I love the look. It insulates from noise. It protects from damage. It adds structural integrity.

Nice set up...but Panny...for the love of all that is holy, it's 2008, get rid of the folding door...puleeez.
What's with this quote from Chris's posted spec sheet? Does Panny have some stealth tech in this model they haven't talked about?

Quote:

Screen Refresh Rate 480Hz

On a more serious note - it appears there is no equivalent of the motion smoothing or anti-judder technologies like 5:5 playback built into the Kuros and most high-end LCDs The only line in the specs that is of relevance makes a very vague reference to "motion pattern noise reduction", whatever that means:

Quote:

Image enhancement features include 3D color management, sub-pixel control and motion pattern noise reduction

Can you Chris or someone else who now has this set comment on the level of jerkiness and judder on 1080p/24 playback (or any other type of DVD film playback)? Personally I loathe this effect, judder would be a deal-killer for me....

Huh??? Is this something definitive you have recently heard Chris, or is it something you are inferring? Up to this point all other indications are that the 58's will be released Oct/Nov time frame (possibly only in PF 1080p form though).

I see no judder on my specific unit.

Just a little behind Chris, but the 58PZ800U is ready to ship at the end of the month. About time.

Samsung is a NICE unit, tough call. I have not had much time to play with the Samsung LN55A950. One thing for sure is that it is 11% smaller and very expensive.

chris (cleveland)...i will be watching these threads closely as well as making a comparison myself (but i have to go to magnolia 75 miles away)

...any additional info you have regarding the comparison of these two sets (58 800u and 55a950) in the near future will be most welcome...after my definitive decision in the "slightly-later-than-near future", i will only need to wait for that sweet price drop by you

So, the stand that is always pictured in the stock photos is definitely NOT included, correct? I don't see anyone advertizing the base/stand for this unit yet. Can someone confirm? I don't plan to wall mount and I know I can fabricate a stand for less than $699, or $500 or whatever the ultimate cost may be. Is this "standless" out of the box configuration common with plasmas?

The base stand is not included on the TH-65PZ850U. I deleted the stand off my stock photo as I know it is not included.

Maybe I can take down the TH-58PZ800U and put the LN55A950 up........let me ponder lol........
lol...i won't mind (selfishly)...but you may need to move threads to do it...

however, in all seriousness as long as you have a no-hastle return policy (incase it is broken) you have a guaranteed sale coming your way...

I see you have replied to several posts since I asked you a question in this post:

Since you didn't respond I'm assuming you may have missed it maybe or you're waiting for confirmation from someone possibly or.....? TIA

I am waiting for confirmation one way or other not many seem to know for sure. My vote is that the PF11 should come out sometime, but maybe Chris knows something I dont, he did get the first info on the 58PZ800 and now us lol

I did miss your post sorry.

I was refering to the TH-58PH11UK, not going to happen. The TH-58PH10UKA will be discontinued. The new Panasonic commercial model will be 1080P and model model number is not released but should be TH-58PF11UK.
Not sure if the manual for the 58PZ800 has been posted but its too big to upload, if anyone needs it just PM me.

Ok, great. That's what I had thought and your post made it sound like you heard that they had decided to can the 58 11UK altogether... Just checkin'. Thanks.

Chris & erpa,

I have also narrowed the field to the Panny TH-58PZ800U and the Samsun LN55A950. I would love to hear some comparison information. Thanks!

Welcome aboard ASherrick!
i think that there are others too that are very interested in these 2 sets (maybe even the xbr8 but it looks like $$$$)...my hope is if there is enough interest that chris (cleveland) will seriously compare the two...however i am heading to the magnolia store the second week in september to do my own comparison - sadly, in the store is the only way i will be able to compare)...
