That's how my 354 operates as well, remembers each source's every individual settings - I'll sooo miss Logic 7...

Yep blame HK for keeping Logic 7 completely proprietary. IMHO I think DTS Neo:6 does a excellent job when watching older stereo source broadcasts.

I guess they thought exclusivity will serve them well... Well even if it did in the past the truth is that their QA or rather complete lack thereof - completely killed their current product line, L7 included or not.
I reached the tipping point, I discourage anyone to invest into any new HK until they fix these horrible bugs.

You have to talk to a local BB store rep and have them look up the sku # against inventory. The online site is hopeless. Last ETA I heard was Sept 4, but they could get them earlier, just like the 1909's suddenly showed up.

Try Neural THX7.1 if you have it. I went from HK 635 to Onkyo 705 and missed L7, or maybe just HK's sound.

Onkyo was much brighter, and not in a good way. Switching from DPLIIX to Neural THX7.1 mellowed it out considerably.

My Magnolia Best Buy hasn't received the 2x09 models yet, only up to the 1909. The SKU isn't even in the RSS (inventory) system, so I keep looking it up by model number. I check this daily. I'll update here ASAP when I find out. I haven't been able to snag the Denon rep whenever he comes in, in fact, I'm starting to think he's a mythical creature.

That said, I ordered the 2809 through the Denon employee accommodations program (half price FTW!) and it should arrive on the 26th! I'm excited to get rid of my Pioneer VSX-D509S and replace it with a Denon.

I have a question about the Denon upscaling feature. My current HDTV is very old, in fact, it predates DVI and only has component inputs. It's next on the to-upgrade list. I'm going to be running all of my YCbCr through the receiver, and am wondering if it will still upscale.

I'm using it with the PS3 and works great. Streaming music sounds great, and Blu ray movies sound awesome and appears to stream PCM well. The surround sounds so much better then my 3 year old Onkyo sounded. Only problem I've had so far is with my Samsung DLP HLA750 and the crappy anynet+ thing, just wouldn't work and would lose sound when I turned off the TV but wanted to continue listening to sound from my PS3 or from my cable box. Once I figured out how to turn that off it works great. Now just waiting for Harmony One config to come out, I'm using older 2307? settings with some adjustments and can most things i want to do. Well back to the movies...before back to work in AM.

Interesting that disabling anytime+ on your display resolved the absence of audio when display was turned off as I have a Samsung DLP but don't use anytime+.

Original ETA was Sept for the 1909 too?

BTW can you do us a favor and test BTB/WTW? It'd be great to put this issue to rest...

BB still doesn't list 1909 online still, even though first 1909 was bought from BB 7/15.

BB has dragged getting 2309 and 2809 for a long time, but should get them in same time.

hi
i bought recently harman kardon avr-254, it has a problem that it losses the video/audio signals + flickering while watching bd disc. i conntacted the cusromer service and they addmited they know about that problem and working on an update.
im thinking on changing it to : DENON 988 OR 989 - my q is: are they good and proven not to have the above problem? and is it worth it to take the 989 over the older one 988?

This issue is only a problem with you (you have asked it so many times)? What do you use that BTB/WTW matters? Its an issue that a very small percentage of people will ever care about and fewer will even notice it.

I was in Futureshop on the weekend and noticed they received some 2309's in which aren't listed on their web site yet. I didn't get a chance to talk to a salesperson on a 2809 release date though.

It looks like Denon Canada had updated their web site on the weekend because the new AVR models are finally listed. I'd imagine the 2809 will be released quite soon.

Anyone know if the Canadian release date will match the American one?

power vs loudness??? WTF?

BTB/WTW clipping is for the who again? You can not tell the difference when playing a BluRay movie...its a fact!!

Anytime you want to match what we own, system builds, EQed systems, full house systems and so on give me a call. I doubt you remotely have a clue to what is true except what you think is true in your little world.

stop whinning about your silly HK problems, go back to your little world and stop bother people that actually spend money and test things!!

I'm so glad you two like Denon's now!!!!

Now Penngray has his 2809 coming Tuesday (est), so T2K just go out and trade that troublesome HK for the Denon of your choice as soon as they are in stock and be happy!

(BTW There is no instances of a recent Denon AVR failing BTB/WTW online, 1909 has already been verfied)

Hello all...I am new to all of this so am looking for just some basic hook up help. I have a Denon 2809 receiver, Sharp Aquos LCD, HD satellite receiver and a PS3. These are all new and ready to hook up. I understand the use of HDMI cables...will need 2 but what about optical cables? If someone could inform me how to exactly hook up these 4 components I woul be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

The 2809 is released in Canada. I just bought mine for $1160 CAN tax incl. Great store in Richmond Hill

Sorry, you are right. It was the 889 I saw. Forgot that the big box stores carry those models.
