Time will tell if they really will..I guess

Curiously I saw an open box SC 05 the other night and they were asking more for that particular unit than they were 3 months ago when they were clearing those units out??( and several hundred more than I paid for my 07 from them)

Warren

Just snagged an SC-07 for under a grand at a somewhat local Magnolia. I have to say I'm impressed.

but it's still pretty awesome!

Besides, some leeway is due ... it's not installed in his rack yet.

Thanks for your reply,

I didn't pay any attention to that part of your question the first time, but the HDMI switching info on page 100 of the manual refers to the output, and has no bearing on the issue you describe. It applies only to the SC-07 because the SC-05 does not have two HDMI outputs.

Not sure what is going on there, as I have a Harmony (actually an Monster AV100, which uses Harmony software) and an SC-07 with no issues after I turned HDMI control off.

With HDMI control out of the equation, it seems that your remote may be sending extra commands. Maybe you should contact Harmony CS to see what they suggest.

You are right CHP_VR, hehe! I am scared to even show what we have going on our rack because most of you guys have your gear neatly stacked and cables organized. If you want to get an idea of what we have now, you can check out the members gallery where I posted everything with labels. It's a cable nightmare behind that tv stand.

...and the SC-05 will be going where the H/K is in one of the pictures

I got this receiver from BB as an open item. It wasn't returned form a customer but it was on store display and this was the last one they had in Magnolia. The remote wasn't included because they can't find it. BB wont give me a discount and Pioneer wont do anything except charge me to buy a new remote.

Now, would anyone on here not using their would like to sell it to me? Our Kuro is getting delivered Monday and I was told that I could use that to operate the receiver but it wont be 100% functional. I know this sucks I really don't want to return the receiver, so, if any of you out there using a Harmony remote and don't need the sc-05 remote then please let me know.

Don't worry - my stuff right now is in a Home Depot Shelfing system, the in-wall cables are coming out from a big hole that I cut in the dry-wall....... guessing yours doesn't look that bad compared to mine

Just need to get some boxes, put those up, re-dry-wall, install the connections and then it will look neater. On the other hand I want to cut a hole into the HT and have the equipment there so guessing I will make up my mind by X-mas, decide how to proceed by March and well then fishing season starts so it will be a next winter project -- for now I am getting a door to cover it up!!!

Don't postpone to tomorrow what can be done 2-days from now

lol... ok, we'll cut you some slack on the sticker...

oh, trust me... not EVERYONE'S cable management is as good as some of the pictures you've seen here...

Currently, I have our pc hooked up to the receiver. The video is sent from pc video card to receiver via s-video and audio is sent from pc audio card to receiver via digital coax cable. All this is done to listen to music, watch streaming movies and tv shows. Since the sc-05 has ethernet port, would it be better to use that for streaming music? Would there be any difference in audio quality? What about video (not sure how that is going to be achieved)?

Two quick questions for anyone that would like to answer:

1. Is there anyway to set this receiver to a default volume every time you turn it on? Or does it always just stick to what you last had the volume at? My old Onkyo had this feature.

2. Is there a way to automatically go to the Ext. Stereo feature under advanced surround without having to cycle through all of the rest of advanced surround modes? I hate having to press the button so many times just to get to the surround mode I want. I have a harmony remote if that helps.

Unfortunately, no. I believe this is one of the details Pioneer improved on the SC-25/27.

Not that I've found. I only use the Sports setting from time to time, but haven't found a way to avoid multiple clicks to get there.

acer,

First question.. not to my knowledge, it saves the last volume setting.
second question:
Any function that isn't on the Harmony, you can look at the IR and Hex codes (linked on first page - Downloadable Files).
So for example:
EXTENDED STEREO has hex codes:
0000 0068 0000 0044 0168 00b4 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 06d9 0168 00b4 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 06d9

So, you should be able to email Harmony support and have them put it in your acct. for download.
They're actually pretty good about it, and usually do it in a day.

Hope that helps

ack.. MacFan beat me

Umm - why don't you just mod your Xbox and install emulators for all of your game systems?

Looks awesome - BTW

Thanks but I can't take all the credit. Gf and I are big movie and game buffs, so, everything you see there are collective decisions and were acquired by the both of us.

The xbox is modded and holds all the 8-bit and 16-bit emulators and roms. The setup is much different than what is pictured. I will take pictures of the updated setup sometime tonight or this week. I am trying to convince my gf to move the xbox and ps2 to a another room and free up the tv stand, so, I will see hwo that goes. We don't even play those systems anymore and all they are doing now is collecting dust and making it harder for me to clean =(

Very nice setup, Charles R!
Dang that looks neat!

Thanks for sharing!

But I noticed you took the photo far enough away to avoid us finding fingerprints

Clean setup indeed. Anything else behind the black covers? Nice house btw from what I can see.

I need an sc-05 remote control in case anyone missed the post. Kinda desperate here. If anyone on here want to sell theirs then please let me know how much you want for it. Thanks!

Thanks but since it was designed with a center post it turned out to be a really bad design. The center posts make it impossible to mount a projector in the middle of the screen (unless it works via the opening at the top which my current projector does).

On occasion there are other equipment hidden behind the openings. I run sensors off of the projector's remote extender to control them.

Kinda thinking your best bet may be to get a universal remote like a Harmony, jitu.... and keep bugging BB to find the missing one.
A new one from Pioneer is gonna run 129.27 model AXD7520

I see it here and here for $15 less..

How will you know if your LED burns out now?

yea, even something like 659 would work... i think you can still score a refurb from tigerdirect for a pretty cheap price...

alternatively, contact a couple of the forum sponsors (axxis audio, robert, etc.) and see if they can help you out...
