My 05 has been on order for a couple weeks hopefully there is not delay.

I agree a usb should have been on the back

I do like that Pioneer is now using the usb interface. It seems like I read somewhere that a usb connection is a true digital connection, which bypasses the average headphone audio amp section. which your stuck with when using the headphone jacks and most other cables and docks, not to mention the improved control of usb. I have't read the manual yet but does anyone know if its able to display video from the ipod?

Thanks for posting the pics..... To me this is a decent upgrade from the 84/94 which I had, the menu/Amps better dacs and the extra HDMI out sold me as I will need it... Can't wait till, I get mine....

Can any one please tell me how the VSX-94TX compares to the SC-05 and SC-07
I am looking to buy a new receiver and am debating between SC-05/07, VSX-94TX and the onkyo 905 or 906.

I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong place. But any replies will be appreciated

btw, I have a 151FD and am looking to buy the pioneer BDP 51 plyer or the oppo 983

also can any one advice if the pioneer receivers are ipod compatible

Many of us are waiting to hear the differences between the VSX 94 and the SC series. I can't speak to the Onkyos, I have never heard them. The Pioneers are iPod compatible, at least on the 94 and 07 anyway. I haven't really been paying attention to the others. The Oppo 983 is likely far better than the 51fd for upconversion. It appears to be a superb BD player however, if you can handle a potential lock up here and there and slow load times.

Better Dacs as one stated on here
Menu system seems much better.

I am sure there is more but, it is a decen upgrade to me with those I listed
above. I was using a 94 with external Amps, but I decieded to sell my Amps off and just go with the 07... Since I already have a 2 channel high end system I think this is a good buy and step up...

Does anyone here know the Best Buy SKU for the SC-05? BreedBeyond posted the SKU for the 07 (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...6#post14374086 ) but I can't pony up for the 07 over the 94. I was planning to get a 94 but it seems like the 05 is still worth getting instead. Thanks.

I guess my question is what is the main differences between the 05 and 07 besides the very slight difference in Amplification and the extra HDMI out is the only thing I see so far..

I think the units are the same except for the differences you noted. I have read the specs and manual, and I don't see any other differences. I think the SC-05 is a great choice if you don't need the extra power or port, but for my setup, I wanted the SC-07.

The OSD looks so good man. The 92TXH's is brutal....

Another difference is the 07 has Burr Brown converters while the 05 doesn't. Does the 05 have the updated GUI? Because the brochure for the 07 (http://www.*********************/imag...play/SC-07.pdf) mentions the new GUI while the 05 brochure doesn't (http://www.*********************/imag...play/SC-05.pdf). Then again these also show the 07 having THX Loudness Plus (http://www.thx.com/technologies/loudness_plus.html) and the 05 not, but I thought any Ultra2 Plus OR Select2 Plus certified unit has this function. The differences may be few but the gap does seem a little wider than it was for 92 to 94. Best Buy SKU for the SC-05? Anyone?

Thanks opguy, from reading the manual I didn't pick up on that many differences. We definitely need more of these in the wild so we can do comparisons. I just wish my 07 would ship already. The wait is killing me.

Hi, I'm new to this form and also own the 94THX. I have the 07 on order and just like the rest of you waiting to see how much better the 07 is compared to the 94THX.
A few things that I have noted on the new 07 are: NEW FREESCALE DUAL CORE DSP.....FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING VERY HIGH END, REDESIGNED REMOTE, THX ULTRA 2 PLUS, ADDITIONAL HDMI OUTPUT, IPOD USB, PQLS, COLOR ONSCREEN DISPLAY, BURR BROWN SRC FOR UPSCALING TO 192 kHZ 24 bit res, AND LAST ICE POWER.
Ice stands for "intelligence, compactness and efficiency" Developed by B&O. Pioneer is stating "Multichannel Simultaneous power Output Total 700W" The statement Simultaneous power means all channels at the same time. Unlike the 94THX and most other receivers have to draw power from other channels when needed during high output passages. Nobody seams to have much more info on these amps. I'm just hoping that these new amps can handle running 7 Martin Logan Speakers. Any information on these amps compared to the 94THX would be appreciated.

Anyone been able to test CD audio quality using the SC-07/BDP-05FD combination (using the new PQLS technology via-HDMI) yet? If so what are impressions?

Does anyone know where you can get an SR+ cable? I would like to take full advantage of the OSD features offered by using this receiver with a Pioneer plasma. I just ordered an SC-07 today.

Unless I missed something isn't the SR+ cable just a male 1/8" stereo to male 1/8" stereo cable that you can buy from monoprice.com for all of $.60 (in a 6' cable)?

Edit: No, it's not... It's a 4 conductor, not a 3 conductor.

Thanks for the info on the SC-09 thread. I guess I'll have wait until The end of the month when I get my SC-07 and can make a comparison myself.

Yeah, I was trying to figure out between the two. It almost seems like the same thing by way of different hook ups.

I have the reciever, haven't posted any real reviews of it yet I am too busy enjoying it. Any questions I will be happy to answer.
