The display on the face of the unit is to small to read from where im sitting so it sucks not really having a gui.
It does on the 3900 through an HDMI source, not on the 1900 though. I had the 1900 for a few weeks and decided to upgrade to the 3900 for several reasons, this being one of them. The other main reasons were the better, more backlit remote, the ability to set each speaker group's crossovers individually, and the bigger filter capacitors. I like to think the bigger caps may give the 3900 a little more dynamic headroom. I am very happy I upgraded! The GUI is very sweet on the 3900 and pops up instantly, in fact Sound And Vision's reviewer on the receiver said it was the best interface he has yet to see, and I agree.
Here I am editing this post for the 3rd time LOL. More on the GUI: I listen to ALOT of music Blu-ray discs and I go in and change the settings often. I find that some discs sound better with my Klipsch RF-62 towers running full-range with no subwoofer, so I am always experimenting while viewing. It drove me nuts with the 1900 as the signal would be interrupted while doing this, and with the 3900 the GUI pops up instantly and the program is still running in the background, making on the fly adjustments much easier.
