What brand router are you using? Mine is a Belkin and trying to determine which other brands (if any) are also having this problem. Thanks...

I didnt either - played fine - rental from Blockbuster.

BUT - I can't get Social Network to fire up past the PLAY NOW selection. Anyone else watched or had problems?

UPDATE: Doofus cleaned the disc (DVD 101!) and bingo - works like a champ. Sorry for the interference!

Use a micro fiber cloth and some kinda 'approved' cleaning spray fluid. Fingerprints are killers!

I've got both of my 2550s networked through 2 switches to my Uverse modem/router and I have no network issues. Neither did I when it was connected to my Buffalo router and Att DSL modem.

i have manually assigned addresses to all my equipment, I've heard any number of problems with the Auto address settings.

After the train hits a couple seconds later the audio drops (video continues) and then comes back but out of sync. I have to pause to help it catch up. I was hoping it was just my disc or I needed to clean the disc since it happens at the same point every time. The disc is mine and is brand new???

I haven't upped to 2.7 yet, but played a purchased version of Inception from Amazon, and mine dropped at the EXACT same spot, and had to do the same, but I backed up to the beginning of the chapter, right when they're all standing around in the empty street, and it played fine the second time through. I had another glitch again near the end, with the outdoor snow scene and the chalet, but I can't recall exactly where it occurred...

Exactly i managed to make it not happen if i rewind right after it happens a couple seconds back. I gave the disc a good cleaning and nothing changes. Like I said I have firmware 2.7, I tried turning on and off all sorts of settings but it always happens. It is beleived according to othe threads and forums that it may have to do with extraction mode and the points at which it occurs in the movie. Bottom line it seems like its a player problem that would need an update beyond 2.7 to correct. I have simply run out of ideas.

I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems browsing their instant queues in the last few weeks or so?
I see that some people were having the same issue I was having with continuously having to reactivate the player with Netflix. After getting nowhere with Netflix...they insisted it was a problem with my player, I contacted Samsung and they insisted I needed to update the firmware. So I went from 2.54 to 2.7. After that I no longer had to reactivate every time I turned it back on. I think it was just coincidence though that I updated around the time the actual problem was fixed based on other postings here.
Anyhow, now my issue is I can't scroll through my queue properly. I can't scroll backwards from the 1st title in the queue to the last (going left). And I also can't get past the 47th title in the queue (out of 53 total).

Call Netflix Customer Support. They are usually very helpful and may be able to assist with this?

Weirdness with Netflix. As of late I've noticed when streaming Netflix on my 2550 it triggers the DTS light on my AVR and I hear an audible click from the internal relay on my receiver, when I stream with my Seagate FAT+ it does not. Anyone else notice this?
With most streaming titles, the audio IS DTS: it just isn't necessarily multi-channel.

Mine comes in as DD 2.0

That works too: the point I was making (to the previous post) was it COULD be DTS.

Anybody still able to download the 2.7 Firmware from there website. I just got Salt and it stops at the 80% progress bar when trying to play it (like others have reported) so I went to go get 2.7 and try it...I see a download link, but it errors when you try and download the file?

Just tried and was able to download the ISO just fine. May have been an issue overnight that's resolved at this point... -TD

As stated in my previous posts I have been having audio drop out with the Inception blu-ray, and it appears others have also. How do I let Samsung know about this issue?

Guys my player skips and freezes randomly when playing a disk, I tried the hack where you spin those tiny screws on the drive a bunch of times but it still keeps freezing. Where can I get a cheap replacement drive? There was someone in this thread that said they find them for under $10! but the links don't work. Please help
post #6889 of 7056
Salt was frozen at 80% bar
I did 2 things, one of which worked
1) upgrade from a 2009 version 2.4?
2) clear persistent storage and redirect to usb drive (i have a generic 4gb)
I think it was #2, that 80% bar looks just like the kindof problem generated by memory. I'll never know as I upgraded first.

Hope this helps.

How do I update the FW via usb?

I put the extracted RUF file on my 512mb drive, plugged it in and got nothing other then USB connected. I tried formatting it on the player and putting the file back but still nothing!

That was a couple of years ago; the cheap drives are undoubtedly gone (I have one). Most of those were pulled from non-working players. Looks like my link (to new parts) is out as well, so let us know if you find another source (however unlikely). You might want to keep an eBay search active.

The replacement drives (no promise that they're working) that I've seen on ebay are as or more expensive than buying a used or refurb BDP-1500 on ebay. So I bought a refurb 1500 for $35 from ebay with the intention of replacing my drive with the 1500's. Unfortunately the 1500's drive wouldn't play blu-rays, so I sent it back. However there were other individuals who bought refurbs from the same person who (based on his feedback) were satisfied. Just the luck of the draw.

I'm not sure a USB hard drive will work, I've always used a "thumb" drive, but at least make sure it's in the root directory (like e:\\).

Also make sure you download the right file, they have one for burning to a CD and another for copying to a USB thumb drive. They don't bother to tell you which is which, I click on the PDF of the upgrade instructions listed under the FW file to find out which is which.

My 2500 just stopped connecting to the internet. Hooked laptop to the cable and i can connect. When i plug the BD2500 back in and try to ping it, there is no such address on the network. Has anyone else the ethernet connector fail like this?
reset it, that might fix it. power on without a disc in the drive, after it boots, press and hold FF button until reset is on the display.

Even if the part interfaced the same way, there's no way you could align and test it (unless you had the same test rig/tools as the drive manufacturer). Spend your time ( and money) finding the whole drive.

Thanks for the suggestion, Matt. I just manually assigned an address and it cleared up any 'issues' with having to reactivate...

Finally went ahead and updated my 2550 via USB with the latest Firmware and everything seems fine. I was a little worried because the last update I did on the player was the 1st 2.6 (that was pulled) and though I haven't had an significant disc playback issues I've been using the player a little of often these days. Still a very good machine.

The only thing making me mental about my 2500 is the lack of surround sound for Netflix. It seems like everyone else now has it enabled except us.
