KEF KHT 5005 Owners Thread

I looked around but did not find any thread specific to KEF KHT 5005 speakers, so I created this one.

I just bought this speaker system, and am pairing it with Onkyo 606. I notice that when I turn-off (standby) my receiver, the sub-woofer light stays lit. Does anyone know how much power is it consuming in that mode?

Wow,

Only a bit more than 2 months late, but what the hey

I have the 5005.2 with Pio SC-07 and the BDP-05 for ht and 2-channel cd listening. Though definitely the weakest link in my setup, I really am quite impressed with what you get out of these little suckers!

Not too impressed with the sub, but it does ok at lower volumes. It's the other 5 that really shine, with surprisingly "big" sound from such a sleek speaker. I set my crossovers in the avr at 100 and have been very happy. On my previous avr, an Onkyo TX-SR705 I found 120 to be my best option, but unfortunately the next step up on the Pio avr is 150, not great imo.

I would say very good home theater speakers in smallish room. 2 channel stereo is quite good also, but definitely is what gets you thinking about some sweet floor-standers!

I'm sure by now you know the blue light turns red a few minutes after shut down.

I have Denon AVR-889 and Kef 5000.2. Plan to add two rear surround speakers. Any recommendation on what speakers I should buy?
