After playing thru the demo a few times I'm starting to really like this game. First of all, gotta say, love the universe! It's about time we get back to the 'old' star wars- I'm so sick of battle droids and whiney jedi! The combat system is much deeper than it first appears, more god of war than dynasty warriors. Still, I have 2 concerns:
1. This game needs an invert y axis option, without it it's a no go for me (hopefully we'll see this in the final game as most every demo I've played lack these kinds of adjustments). The camera I might be able to live with but properly aiming objects to throw with my force powers is impossible- for me- without an inverted y. I mean think about it, you're navigating an object in 3d space, flight controls only make sense for those of us inclined. Contrary to another poster- you can throw objects vertically! Quite simple really, best place to practice is in the hanger with the tie fighters overhead.
2. As this game falls into the god of war / ninja gaiden genre (one might go as far to say clone, not that that's a bad thing) I wonder how the gameplay will hold up without the aforementioned games 'contributions' to the genre... Specifically ryu plucking arms off ninja like they were flower pedals or kratos tearing a satire in half like a phone book.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for the uber violence and blood that defines those games! Nevermind that blood is impossible as the light saber would cauderize the wound!
In all serious though, I can't be the only one bummed to discover after whipping r2's in half left and right with the light saber that storm troopers don't react the same way!? Come on! It's a frickin laser sword for god's sake! It was MADE to split people in 'twine! You play a villan! Even Obi won cut a dude in half!!!
I'm not asking for massive dismemberment here, just a storm trooper decapitation or a severed wookie arm every once in awhile! Make it a tough combo to prevent over use... I don't know, just my 2 cents.
