It doesnt have to be HTIB...but I want

5.1 (Subwoofer the most important part)
AV receiver that has HDMI repeating support (Perfect for PS3)
I dont need a DVD player

Take a look at the Sony HT-7200DH. For $500 it's a 5.1 system built around a real AV receiver and can process the multichannel PCM from your PS3. It does include a separate DVD player, but you don't have to use it obviously. You could always try to sell it on ebay.

Sony CT-100, its the best $300 I spent for home entertainment. I replaced an old 5.1 system with the CT-100. Night and day difference for me.

Is 500 the maximum budget??

Because for 200 dollars more you can get a set of athena 5.1 + Sony STR-DG720

http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo...ariation=2PSIL

http://www.amazon.com/Athena-Wall-Mo...422360&sr=8-12

http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo...ber=ATASP4100B

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-STR-DG720...9422483&sr=1-1

Comes to a total of 670.00 + some shipping...

The receiver that comes with the HT-7200DH isn't really a decent stand alone receiver... it looks like a receiver, but it doesn't have amplifiers or components of a dedicated receiver.... don't let the wattages fool you.. its rated at 900-watts (140W x 5 + 200W Subwoofer at 1KHz,<10% THD), but the Sony STR-DG720 is rated at 7.1 Channel Power Rating: 105W x 7 Amp Power (8 ohms, THD 1.0%) .... there is so much distortion and probably its rating at 'max' power and not continuous power for hte HT-7200DH, while the STR-DG720 has lower distortion and probably closer to the real continuous power.....

So, do they not sale the receiver that comes with the HT-7200DH seperately? ... I thought it was a STRDG720, I was considering the receiver from all the good discussions of the 7200 I heard. LPCM through HDMI does sound like a win/win solution for PS3 owners.

Also, nice setup chironerd21.. I'll contemplate stealing it later.

If you willing to pay around 300-350...

i suggest you go with the Sony STR-DG820 for 310.00:

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-STRDG820-...9465903&sr=8-1

or the Onkyo 606 for 358.99 + Free shipping:

http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-SR606...9465903&sr=8-5

Honestly... i would go with the 606.... or find a refurbrished onkyo 605 for around 250.00
