I finally picked up my brand new 141 today & mounted on the wall were my 6020 once was. This was Jeff Meier's response about my break-in question "I do not recommend the break-in procedure. I only see negative things or nothing from this process. It will engage the protection circuitry in the product for an extended period and 150 hours out of 30,000+ life is nothing for this product as far as wear is concerned." So I will just enjoy until the way it is until it can meet its full potential once calibrated by Jeff. Thank you to everyone who offered their assistance with my questions. I will be sure to report back with my experience with Jeff's services & calibration reports as well.

Put it in Pure mode and use silly sally's settings. That will get you very close, mostly the WB.

Update: I finally got my new (to me) pride-and-joy 141FD up and mounted with a Sanus LF228 and it looks great! I got the $79 Sony Bdp-s185 blu-ray for now but is capable of 24 fps output. I have an older Elite vsx-14 with a JBL sc305 as a makeshift "soundbar" and works pretty well. I have a Logitech Revue controlling everything including my uverse. This particular 141 is definitely a buzzer. Rarely is it louder than my audio but I do hear it when the black side bars appear with some commercials. I have an Oct '08 build and am using SillySally's settings. Any recommendations for calibrators in the SE Michigan area?

When watching my Uverse my input displays 1080p/24bit. When I watch blu-ray, it changes to 1080p/36bit. Is it now running at 72hz? Im still confused on the whole bit vs. Hz vs. Fps thing.

I've begun a hunt for a 141 here in SoCal. Where is everyone finding their 141s, and can you guys let me know what you're paying for them new?? PM me if you don't feel like posting here.

To find a brand new in a box 141, is more pure outright luck than anything else. There is no secret stash of NIB 141's hidden somewhere in a long lost warehouse, and no secret list of dealers that have stockpile of NIB 141's left to sell. If you want a new one, you're probably going to ask around and need to call all the Pioneer dealers that you can find a phone number for. And even then, you very likely may not find one, unless you're really lucky.

I'm definitely aware of that. But two posters here have come across new ones within the last month, and I'm just curious where they got them and how much they paid for them. Personally I'd take a low-hour used one as well, but you can never have too much information.

If I was interested in a product someone recently acquired, I'd send them a PM and ask them where and how much.

Well, I was trying to accomplish two things: write one post rather than send two PMs, and let 141 owners in my area know that I'm interested if they are thinking of going to new TV like the 70" Elite.....

just picked up my 55vt50 and looks fantastic but want to load some of the settings that experts gently been providing here, where can i set a custom preset?? cant seem to find it anywhere

I think you would have better luck in the owner's thread for the Panasonic VT50 series. This it a thread for those who own the Pioneer Elite Kuro plasma 60" monitor.

He posted the same question in the VT50 thread, however I guess he has a euro model that he failed to say.

Haven't been here for a while. My 141 is still running strong. Purchased January 2009 from Roman, Clarity Audio Video. On the average, it's on about 40 hours a week. I look at the 80" and 90" sets now available, and the Sharp 70" Elite, and wonder if it's time for an upgrade. Then I turn on the Pio' and think there is no upgrade from this set on the market yet.

Another satisfied owner reporting in.

It will be 4 years (October 15th) and it still puts a smile on my face when I turn it on. I agree and am surprised, that there isn't anything on the market that surpass it's picture quality. Four years is like an entirety in the electronics business. I'm just now getting around to putting a HT system together.

Yep. I bought mine in October of 2008 and still love this TV (monitor technically) 4 years later. I still can't believe I've had it for 4 years. And the funny thing is, I've finally gotten around to scheduling a calibration date with Jeff Meier. Better late than never, right?

At least you can tell Jeff that the monitor is nicely broken in and it's ready to be calibrated.

Yes, I'm using a Darblett in HD mode at 50%. It does make a slight improvement as long as the source is clean. If the source material is SD or grainy best to keep it off.
