I'm getting my 55" 950 delivered tomorrow from BB. This is actually a 'lemon replacement' via their PSP for a 60" Sony KDL-60XS955 RP-LCD - I got the replacement approved in April and have been holding out on cashing in my chips until the 950 was available.
I was on vacation last week when I first saw the 950 listed on BB.com for $4,199.98 - I called BB.com and attempted to do the swap online. Long story short, after getting some bad information from the BB.com sales rep, I placed the order for the TV and my 12% coupon was honored along with free delivery (total price ~$3,900 including 6% PA tax). I was then txfrd to the PSP department who told me that I needed to physically visit a BB store in order to take advantage of the PSP replacement --- after arguing for a bit, I gave in and they cancelled the order.
Upon returning home, I went to my local BB on Saturday night. I explained the situation to the store manager and he said he would place the order. I was shocked when he went to the BB.com website and the price showed as $4,999.99. I explained how I had just ordered the TV 2 days ago for $800 less. He went into the 'inventory screen' which also showed the $4,999.99 price --- however, when he clicked on a screen showing availability at all local stores in the area, the old $4,199.98 price was shown. Based on this, he performed a PM down to $4,199.98, honored the 12% coupon, and gave me free delivery --- again a total of ~$3,900 including tax.
Earlier this afternoon, I received a call from BB letting me know that my TV would be delivered tomorrow afternoon b/t 2-4. About 10 minutes later, I got a call from the same BB rep to let me know that a second 55" 950 would be delivered --- as it turned out, the BB.com order was never properly canceled - thus, the 2 deliveries. We had her cancel the BB.com order --- only one 55" should suffice ;-)
I'm fired up for tomorrow afternoon!
