Review this Triad setup

Thread Starter
looking for any final comments from Triad experts before i pull the trigger on this speaker setup......

Constraints
  • 7.1 system for HT in family room
  • room is 19'(wide)x27x8 (~4,000 ft3) - open on front left to kitchen/bar
  • seating about 12' back (from 50" plasma, but will be projector/screen soon)
  • budget $5-7k
  • LR will be in wall
  • C needs to be in room/in cabinet (can't be >8.5" high)
  • sides need to be in ceiling
  • rears in wall (could be in ceiling if necessary)

Current plan
  • LR - InWall Bronze/4 LCR x2
  • C - InRoom Bronze/4 LCR
  • LR surrounds - InCeiling Silver/8 Omni x2
  • LR rears - InWall Silver/4 Omni x2
  • sub - InRoom Gold PowerSub w/RackAmp500 (installer recommended the big sub to fill the roomsize)
  • total $6,500
I didn't go with the inWall bronze/4 surround due to it's relatively low [16KHz] cutoff

I considered going up to the silvers for LCR but that's blowing the budget and the InRoom Center is slightly too big for my cabinet.

this is from looking at the triad website, searching online and discussions with an installer.

thanks, alan

Greetings Alan,

I'm also in the market for theTriads. Your system looks pretty good to me. However, I might suggest you posting your question here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=921427

There are at least a couple of guys there, namely Paul Scarpelli (Sales Mgr. w/ Triad), and Tony Cordova (HT business Owner/Installer) who really know their stuff, and are more than eager to help. You'll be happy you did.

BTW, I listened to an In-Room Gold setup yesterday at their distributor here in the Dallas area. One word: WOW!

Good luck,

Kevin
