Great news. Do you happen to know if they will be adding CBUT? They originally had it on there channel line up that they gave me, but we still don't get this channel. A tech told me that they were in the process of adding channels to the lineup like FSN-HD that were on the list, but I'm not sure about CBUT.

For those in Snohomish County with Fios TV, do you get the local HD channels via QAM tuner? I'd really like to avoid extra set-top boxes. Thanks.

Yes you do get the locals HD channels although I could not see any logical numbering in those channels.

I’ve noticed new lines being put in on power poles around shoreline, wa. I thought Shoreline was a Qwest territory but found out there are some VZ areas in the City! Anyway, I checked the City’s website and looks like VZ TV franchise will be voted on at the end of October! Great news!

I just had FIOS service installed. Two cable cards in Tivo Series 3 and a Verizon DVR.
I live in 98052 (Redmond) zip code and when going through Guided Setup on my Tivo, Verizon lineup does not show up as an option. My question for anyone using Tivo is which zip code are you using in order to get Seattle area Verizon FIOS lineup (or at least the closest match)?

Thanks!
My zip works in my Tivo - 98208.

A proposed franchise agreement between the city and VZ is on the agenda for the 10/7 council meeting (Google "city of kirkland", there's a link to the agenda at the right of the home page).

The link down at 9.a leads to a PDF of the agreement.

This would be the first hearing, final approval would presumably be the next council meeting 2 weeks later (10/21).

I'm getting Fios Internet (20/5) and extreme hd tv service installed on the 17th. Verizon started new deal where I'm going to get both services for 79.99 for one year.

Much cheaper than comcrap....

Cool, Congratz gdeep! I hope your install goes well. Fios is definately a way better deal for what you get then Comcast at least for now. I read you posted they aren't even adding any more HD this year yet are raising prices, what a rip! Supposedly Fios is going to be adding at least 6 more HD channels by the end of this year but not sure if that is in our area or not, but nevertheless, I'm completely happy with the service so far. Hope you have a similar experience.

BTW, I still do not see FSNNW-HD, it is listed on my channel lineup they gave me on installation for channel 576, but still not there and has been removed from the list online. I am very confident they will add it at some point, but the question is when. Maybe you can mention it at install? I mentioned some issues during my parents install and they wrote them down to take back with them. All these were fixed shortly after that. Also I do see other areas like Los Angeles, and Texas, etc have there local FSN-HD on channel 576, so hopefully it will be up soon. Someone posted Oct 1st here in this thread, but I still don't see it currently.

This issue should be fixed now and you should be getting this channel. I had the same problem but TAB from the forums here called them up and had this resolved. If you are still not getting this channel you should report it.

I will ask the installer about FSN-HD channel. Also I got the installation date moved to tuesday instead of friday.... 5 days and counting for FIOS....

The city has video online of council meetings, so I watched the 10 minutes or so dealing with Verizon. No quibbles - just some questions about which public access channels would be available and when - so this should get signed off at the next meeting on 10/21. Hopefully just a matter of days after that before TV can be ordered...

Well, they're digging in my street this week (Lynnwood), so I guess it's only a matter of time.

Anyone remember how long it was from when they started digging to when you were actually able to order the service?

When they first layed the orange condiuts of fiber down in my area, it was March 2007, I was able to order the internet service in June, so approx 3 months in my area.

This was before TV service was available in our area, but the person who installed our internet at that time told me TV service would be available Fall 2008, which was right on the money.

Got FIOS TV and Internet installed today and I gotta say WOW.....

PQ is much much better then comcast.

Install took about 4 hours. I did ask the installer about FSN HD and he didn't know when that channel was going to be added.

Glad you are enjoying Fios now too gdeep! Yeah, I'm not getting channel 640 Lifetime either, there are so many HD channels now after coming from Comcast I didn't notice it was missing

Lifetime is listed on the channel lineup handout they gave me on 640, but I'm not getting it, just 641 lifetime movies. Also I notice if I type my zip into the verizon site, it doesn't show up on that lineup so who knows. I noticed it is on other zip code lineups in other parts of the country, but not here.

I'll try to call sometime and ask what is up with that and FSN and see if they happen to know anything.

ok, now I see what you are saying, 640 is actually there but not working. They must have just added this channel. I was out of town since the end of last week and it wasn't there when I left. Now it is there but not working so, it probably means they just added it, and it should be up and running soon.

City of redmond gave me contact for FIOS who I emailed today to get more info about FSNHD.

I called today to report that channel 640 wasn't working and ask about FSNHD. The person I talked to said they'd forward this issue to another deptartment. Also he said that they are working on getting FSN up by the end of the month. Not sure if he knew what he was talking about with FSN or not, we shall see, maybe you can find out more with your contact.

Also, ch 640 is a new HD channel, it wasn't there before I left last weekend, as well as all the new sub sport channels, maybe they just haven't flipped the switch yet or whatever they need to do to get it working.

Anyone know if CBUT (CBC) is now available on FiOS?

Also, I have a Tivo Series 3, which takes two single-stream cable cards, and a Tivo HD, which takes one multi-stream cable card. Does anyone know how much each of those cable cards will end up costing me?

Verizon has not rolled M cards out in WA yet. They have them in one market on the east coast, and will likely get them out to the rest of the country in the future. Each card costs $3.99 which is the only thing I hate about my Fios. I've got a Tivo HD using 2 single stream cards.

Thanks for the reports. It's available at my house in Lynnwood now. Despite 57 international channels, no CBUT or any other Canadian. That's a deal breaker for me. Channels they show for Lynnwood:

CBUT was initially listed in our channel lineup when I got my install, but is not here. I'm wondering if they are eventually going to add it since channel 640 was also on the handout but wasn't added until recently. You might want to keep checking to see if they eventually add it, or try to contact them about it. I have no idea why they initially had it listed, but it seems strange they would list it in the first place and distribute it if they weren't planning on carrying this channel at some point.

Here is copy of there initial handout they were passing out on the first installs if you haven't seen it already. it shows CBUT on channel 2.

My parents live in Bothell and have had there service for about a month as well... any reason they are giving you for not being able to get it in your area?

Yep, I just noticed Lifetime HD ch 640 is up and running today... warning, when the content isn't HD, it's another stretch-O channel to add to the list.
