X2 5400+ vs X-2400 (45w)

With the great deals goin on: X2 5400+ BE for $66 and the X2 2400 BE for $35, which CPU do u recommend for a HTPC that will solely be used for a music/movie server. I'll use it to rip DVDs, play videos files (mkv BD rips). Also, I might use the machine to play Warhammer or WoW. Is it worth the extra money for the 500mhz or is it better to save and get the lower wattage BE-2400. Is there a lot of actual power 'savings' with the 45 watt chips?

depends on what video card you are using to play those BD movies. if you have a 780G or HD3xxx card then even a BE-2400 is plenty for playback and will do a great job in ripping and what not. having said that, it is also a good overclocker so you could overclock it past 5400+ speeds if you need. so i would say go with BE-2400.

For right now, I'll only be using the integrated graphics in the 780G boards, but if I do game, i'll go with a higher end card. Just wasn'st sure if either of those CPUs would be a bottleneck over one another.
