More seriously, Ray McKinnon, who plays ADA Potter is a remarkable character actor. He has a lot of range, as is demonstrated by the stark differences in his character of Reverend Smith in Deadwood and Potter in SOA. Smith was a sweet, gentle man who we watched sink into dementia as his brain tumor took him. In stark contrast, Potter is a federal prosecutor, whose ruthlessness apparently knows no bounds. He seems to think that only the "good guys" have civil rights, and he gets to decide who the "good guys" are.
