Bell having a collectible Luger in a case in his study is unusual for a man of means and power? Hardly.
Especially since it was no threat to the plan. Someone shoots Bell, big deal, he's going to die anyway and the universe still collapses. Bell could even have been planning to use it on himself.
The only outcome that was a threat involved Peter. An anomalous figure in their timeline. Nobody else could even see the ship. Combine that with someone being in the room with Olivia and be willing to kill her and having a gun in display case is the least of his potential problems.
Of all the nits to pick Walter shooting someone from three feet away with a trophy pistol shouldn't be top of the list. Nobody for instance is questioning how they got September out of the house without him falling off the small platform with the glyph ...
Considering the show's future has been in limbo until the eleventh hour I think the crew did a pretty good job of tying most things off with some semblance of potential closure.
