Hopefully no blue dots or hums! My setup will include:
Samsung LN-52A860 52" LCD
D-Link DSM320 Media Streamer
Sony DVP-CX985V 400 DVD Player
Harmony 880 refurb (looked brand new when it arrived
I'll post an update on how everything turns out!
Well, everything's hooked up and I couldn't be happier.
No blue dots or excessive heat from the Onkyo (at least no more heat than my last two Onkyo's.) Picture and sound are sweet.
Just one problem. My Dish Network ViP622 continuously shuts down and then either gets into a continuous rebooting cycle or won't power on at all. During my preliminary investigation I found a "Refurbished" sticker on the back!
I didn't even think to look when the guy was installing it because it was in a new box, sealed with tape, and all of the accessories and manuals were in their original plastic bags (or so I thought.)
When I bought the sat box they led me to believe it was New. When I called Dish, their answer was "When we run out of new ones we just substitute remanufactured ones."
What a scam! Needless to say the conversation went South from there. They are supposed to be out Tuesday with a new, NEW receiver. We'll see. A word of caution to anyone thinking about subscribing to Dish Network: Don't let them charge you for a new box and give you a remanufactured one. Make the installer show you the back of the receiver and look for the sticker.
