First off, he pre-rigged the deck by shuffling in his own pre-sorted cards. He knew that the other guy would draw only one card, and set it up so that he only needed 2 cards.

He had 7x7x7h8h9h in his hand. When he "showed" the other guy his cards, it was obvious he had three sevens. He discarded the two 7x cards, and drew two, picking up the Th and Jh, for a Jack high heart straight flush.

What I want to know is how he got away with cutting the deck with his own cards. If you watch the scene, there is no way the dealer didn't see him do it out of the corner of her eye.

Oh man, Lisbon (Robin Tunney) is part of the reason I keep tuning in. She's hot, in that Winnie Cooper kinda way. Plus, she's not that tall, and I got a thing for the short ladies.

Found the Bruno interview very interesting especially his comments about the supporting cast . I like all of them except Van Pelt who still does not fit on the show !
I'm not getting the whole Rigsby/Grace thing at all nor do I find her a very credible actress .
Hope if any of the cast is let go Van Pelt gets the boot !

While I admittedly like looking at Van Pelt, I do have to agree that she is the weakest link. That said, I also feel they could easily get rid of Cho and Rigsby as they really don't add much either aside from a little humor now and then.

This show could easily be just Jane and Lisbon just like Eleventh Hour is just a two person team with the one smart one doing all the work and solving everything while the sidekick just goes along for the ride.

Started watching this show after my favorite show NCIS was over.. It has a strong lead in with NCIS.. I agree will all the posts about Van Pelt being the weak link.. Too bad we couldn't substitute "Gretchen" from Prison Break with Van Pelt..

Heads up - rather odd - my HR20 (D*) didn't flag tonight's episode as new, and so wasn't set to record it. I reviewed the episode summary and it doesn't sound like a re-run (too soon, isn't it?), so I manually set it to record. Better check yours to make sure...

It's a repeat, original airdate was 10/14/08, about the group of surfer kids, and the father that owns the beach front property..??

It displays that airdate on my HR20.

I'm so hooked with this series, I also try to get into a "mentalist" state and figure out who did it before the episode ends, I think I managed to get at least 3 down...

They always seem to appear in the first 10 minutes into the show, so watch closely, and you'll find out..

What kind of car was Patrick driving in the episode with the "psychic" woman from a few weeks back when he pulls up in front of the victim's house and talks to her kids? I've seen those before and can't remember what they are.

If I have this right (based on the pattern), we lost the center channel when the network was putting up teaser/promo notices on screen at the start of acts. I think the graphics for the promos may have come with sound effects, but they didn't have the mix set properly, so the result was to drop the channel instead of add on top of it.

I think you're right, I noticed the dropouts occurring during the promos as well.
