Alan,

When I get some time I am going to do just that.

But I really have had very good Luck with my Integra RDC-7.

So, was kinda wanting to stick with the same product line only newer.

Plus, my Integra Dealer here Locally will be doing the install for the Integra DHC-9.9 plus the Pioneer Elite BDP-09FD Blu Ray player.

The dealer is also a Runco Dealer and his guy "Tech" being ISF Certified is going to do the "Complete" ISF Calibrations for All the New Components that they install.

So, in my situation I think it is in my best interest to go with this Authorized Integra dealer that can do the Complete 100% Install & ISF Calibrations.

In-fact I just talked with them this afternoon regarding this Upgrade to my H/T. I think I am really going to like to continue doing business with them.

But I appreciate the Heads-Up on the Onkyo Pro 886.

I'm a new member. I've read many of the postings with great interest and some amusement; they are generally quite informative, even if they tend to address topics that are less intersting to me because my main interest in the DHC 9.9 is that it appears to be the only device that will accept pure 5 channel DSD from my OPPO 980H and decode it into 5xanalogue that I can send out to my two Nuforce monoblocks and Marsh $00S power amps (don't have a center channel amp or speaker yet). What I really would like to know first though is where the h*** can I get one of these? The Integra homesite doesn't have a dealers list and all but disclaims knowledge of the DHC 9.9. What gives?

I live in Fairfax Virginia and if anyone knows an authorised dealer within fifty miles I would willingly go there and get one. Maybe I could contribute a bit more multi-channel uadio content to this blog.

Anyone know of a dealer near me?

Also, look at the OPro PR-SC886...Integra's sister product. Cleaner look
and comes with rack mounts if your cabinet dictates that type of mounting.

I'm having a hell of a time getting anyone: Dealer, Service center, Integra direct, to acknowledge this said problem. I was told directly from an Integra service tech: "We have NOT seen this problem your describing?" "Hold Please......... Sorry Sir but nobody here has fielded any problem tickets with this said gamma/color tracking problem" WTF? AND... I was told that it IS NOT Integra's policy to exchange units for a factory fresh one....This is left up to the discretion of the Authorized dealers. So wherever that came from could someone PM me the number of this dealers stating this.....I need some assistance here. Guys, if anybody reading this has had a unit replaced please PM me and tell me how it went down. Please include the dealer and saleperson, and phone #. I have the problem with mine and I'm afraid I won't get an accurate professional calibration done. My dealer has really pissed me off....they think guys on an AV forum don't know a thing. I spent $11,000 on an equipment upgrade back in Oct. 08 and I get treated like.......insert word here...... I'm done as soon as I get this figured out!! This has been my first Integra product....It very well might be my last!! I thought Denon's Customer Service blew......WOW! It was a piece of cake compared to this.
Ok. I've called 6 more authorized dealers from the east coast to the midwest. Not one person knew anything about this problem. Apparently the knowledge is limited to this forum.
Bluedevilfan,

You should try a different approach. Show/explain them the problem you are experiencing and ask for a solution... if they cannot, they will have no other choice but to try and replace your unit... they can't offer an option that is not working correctly right?

Good luck and keep us informed!

The dealer's stance is this....Integra won't give them a RA (Return Authorization) for my 9.9. My dealer won't exchange my defective unit because Integra won't authorize it!! Holy Crap! They told me to send it directly back to Integra. Translation.....I will be without it for god knows how long. How did guys get theirs exchanged????????

Looking for advice on best presets to maximize the components in my system. Want to have the most appropriate component doing processing, and avoid any multiple processing or over-processing. I am fuzzy on when I should choose "direct" as opposed to other options.

5.3 system consists of:

Integra DHC-9.9
Denon DVD-2500BTCI for Blu Ray
Denon DVD-3930CI for SACD, DVD, CD, etc.
Time Warner Scientific Atlana HD DVR HD 8300

These feed a Pioneer Elite PRO-111FD

Audio:
Classe' CA-5200 amp
B&W speakers - 802D fronts, HTM4S center, DS8S surrounds
REL subwoofers - B3 with fronts, one R-205 each for center and surrounds.

Thanks

I recently did. I haven't spent much time with it yet. I still have the C2 in the system. I use it's programmable channels for my tactile transducers.

Okay...here's how it works. Your dealer calls the sales rep for their area. He gives the rep the model and serial number for your unit. He also provides the rep his invoice number and the date when he (the dealer) received it. He then requests an advanced exchange-which means: Onkyo/Integra ships him (the dealer) a new unit (usually within 24 hours) and bills the dealer's acct the $xxxxxx's, then, when he gets it in, you return your unit, he ships your 'dead' product to Onkyo, and within 10 days he receives the credit on his account. If he refuses to do this....call and ask for Don in customer service @ 800-225-1946. Don is a good guy and WILL get this straightened out.
The one thing i must ask of the other forum members...is this not the 'gamma' problem that the FW 1.04 takes care of ?
If it is, all u need to do is perform the FW upgrade and that's the fix.

No, FW 1.04 fixes the bug where the gamma setting is not saved when you leave the picture adjustments menu.

I finally bit the bullet a few days ago and ordered one. My plan is to first set it up with just the main speakers so I can run a semblance of an A/B comparrison of 2ch sound with my optical inputs feeding .flac lossless audio. I know the 9.9 is very good in the multi-channlel BD area. I have never really gotten a handle on how it sounds with just stereo listening. I know, it is very subjective. I have gotten tired of having to rig a system to switch HDMI etc, so I just decided to find out for myself how the 9.9 sounds.

I am by no means an 'audiophile', but I do appreciate good 2ch music. I generally do not listen to purely analog audio, so I am looking for satisfactory 2ch audio from digital inputs such as SPDIF.

I will post my impressions. My hope is that the 9.9 will meet my expectations and I can sell the C2 and the T3 tuner that I never use.

It would be great to get your views. I love my C2 and only use it for HT and listening to music through digital inputs (CD or lossless WMAs). I would love to get a C3 when it comes out but I doubt my budget would allow it anymore.

Thanks

JonSS: That is exactly what led me to buy the Integra. I do listen to stereo music, but it is sourced by either my Denon CD player or my HTPC in .flac format sent to my C2. I don't have a dedicated 2 ch. room, but a combined HT and 2 ch. listening room. I am very pleased with the C2 performance and have delayed on getting an HDMI capable processor. I have decided to give the Integra a chance and hope it's digital input 2ch peformance will be close to the C2. I too am no longer able to drop big bucks on audio gear which becomes obsolete in a short span of time. Heck, the C2 was a purchase made with the expectation that Parasound had made it upgradeable. That was not quite the case.

I hear you. I bought my C2 5 years ago, went all out with a killer system that I thought would last be a very long time, which I would not be able to justify now (kids etc.). To be fair it still could as I could always use 7.1 analogue inputs for BR sound.

I am currently using the 7.1 anlog inputs on the C2 for by BD player. However, all the reviews I have read on the Integra's multichannel performance are extremely positive. I figure the Integra will provide the right combination of HDMI video performance, HD codec decoding, video switching and best of all, the audyssey system. I have high hopes for this Integra. This thread has been very helpful although it never really compares 2 ch. audio in detail.

I've had good and bad dealers over the years. You don't find out about the bad ones until there is a problem. I can count the good ones on one hand and Alan is one of those. I'm glad Alan is my dealer. He has been very helpful and always has time for me if I had a question. I highly recommend him.

Nice unit, but price point starts to move more toward the supposed price of the C3 if it ever gets released. My current goal has been best unit for the money in this price range.

Very well said! Before I started using this dealer I researched them at the BBB, and reseller ratings. Neither one had anything negative to say about them. They weren't all bad...I got some great prices from them. Their customer service might as well be a call center in India. Right next door to Dish Network. I'm just really tired of salesmen who obviously don't have any product knowledge! Manufacture dealer reps are just as bad IMHO. If your going to sell products.....educate yourself on said products, research the products here, get real world user input about suspected problems, glitches, etc. I'm sure there's plenty of salesguys that are AVS members, I applaud you guys for this. BUT don't chuckle when a customer says he learned about a possible problem from a HT forum. These forums are full of people who INDEED know what their talking about.
