So I strongly suspect Denon will ship a new mic to people that buy the feature pack (probably the one which comes with the 5308), unless Audyssey has done some magic to allow the lower-end mic to be used for DynamicEQ.
Oh, and yes, I strongly suspect a new calibration will need to be run given that additional measurements are taken for DyamicEQ.
I don't believe this is accurate at all. I've never seen him make any such statement, can you link or cite this claim?
You don't want to use the improved mic anyway, since the correction curves are for that specific mic model that goes with the reciever. Do not mix and match or change microphones. The exception is the PRO mic that is corrected individually and done via laptop. Otherwise, you HAVE to use the mic that came with your receiver for the correct results.
No additional measurements are taken for Dynamic EQ.
