can you help me with a little advice?
I've been given the opportunity to purchase a pair of Dunlavy SC-IV, used previously in a mastering studio. The asking price is around €3,000.--, possibly a little lower, since the seller and I are acquiantances.
I was wondering if any one of you has experience with these in terms of room requirements, amp limitations, etc. I currently own a Rotel RSX 1067, which, based on info in Stereophile magazine, puts out the bare minimum required for the SC-IV. However, they are stated to have 91dB efficiency, so this amp might just be able to cope with them and the 3 Ohm load. I don't play very loud very often. But I should point out that my current listening room is far from ideal. It sounds pretty good with my current set up, but I don't think it's suited for these behemoths.
Any reccomendations are very welcome! I'd love to get my hands on these beauties, but only if it's worth the effort and money.
