Can anyone confirm that the first Indiana Jones movie framed art does exist?

Distributor: Framed Picture Enterprise

I can't post the link because I'm a new user.

Thanks!

Did you talk to them about direct sales?

Although they list both The Dark Knight and the Beowulf pictures that I got as being the same size (24x36), they are not.

I messaged the listed email on the home page but have yet to receive a response. I've talked to Blockbuster as well and they don't seem to know anything. I really want Raiders!

Also, on the Toys R Us website they have two Crystal Skull posters that are from the same distributor and are described like the posters at Blockbuster. They're listed as 'Online Only' but the stores may carry them.

Thanks to my wife's eagle eyes, she was finally able to find Sin City and JAWS for $10 each at a local blockbuster, plus a $10 Star Wars- Empire Strikes Back poster. I think I have like 15 of them by now. The madness has to stop. The way I see it, even if I dont have enough wall space to hang all these posters, I atleast have the option of alternating them.

I am still waiting on IronMan, Incredible Hulk, and DarkKnight to hit the $10-$15 clearance price.
Are these marked as clearance in some way?? I've seen boxes of them at both of my local blockbusters, but they are all marked as $29 or $39.

Thanks for the link to the poster company guys.

Has anyone seen the "Clint Easywood", "Gone With the Wind" or "Casablanca" posters at your local BlockBusters ?
I have been in two store locally & did not these for cheap. One had no discounts at all on their poster collection.

The sizes listed are definitely not accurate.

I wonder why they made them in so many different odd sizes?

I am seeing the same thing in my area. I've been to two different Blockbuster stores in my area on multiple occasions and they have a decent selection but they are all listed at full price ($29 and $39). In fact I just stopped at one of them on the way back from eating out tonight and I finally found one with a red clearance tag over the regular price tag. Unfortunately it was a pretty small three panel print of Marilyn Monroe. I have yet to find any of the large movie posters marked down.

The first local blockbuster I went to 2 weeks ago when I found out about these posters, had a few crappy posters on clearance, but then I went to another store near by and they had some really good ones with the red $9.99 sticker on them, including the ones that the other store did not tag for clearance. So when I went back to the other store, they told me "yeah sorry we didnt get a chance to mark those other posters down...", I guess out of laziness because I cant imagine a Blockbuster being too busy these days. So the person felt bad and gave me a full list of all the posters that should be on a $5-$10 clearance. I picked up what I wanted (and more) and when they scanned them, they came up with the $5 or $10 prices even though the original sticker says its $40 or $30.

So dont be shy, and have them scan the posters you want, just bear in mind, if its a brand new movie, more than likely the poster will be about $20-$30.

Wow! Thanks for the tip. I will probably be in the same store I was in last night this weekend. I will ask them about that and maybe pick up a few.

I picked up a black and white Aerosmith one and it is OFF THE HOOK.. looks great in my apartment :>

It was the regular $40.. actually now that I think about it it was $39.99 and my game pass was $21.99 and my reciept was only $57 so it must have been discounted.. gonna have to check that reciept :>

I'm still only missing the Raiders poster. And I'm still unsure of it's existence...

Same here... they are marked down to 19.99 or so, but very few are any cheaper (if I am even able to find any at all!)

I bought The Empire Strikes Back and Temple of Doom for 19.99 ea, but couldn't justify the same price for the other movies.

I'd really like to find Casino Royale. Iron Man, Cars, and a few others for cheap... we'll see.

those who have gotten Sin City and Dark Knight pre-framed posters at their block busters are lucky. I want those. My local BB only has Beowolf ($10), Hulk $30, Family guy Star Wars $30, 300 Dine in Hell $30, and star wars IV $30.

i got an inside source who works at blockbuster. Got me the Iron Man poster on hold for me plus the employee discount. Picking it up 11/7.

Resurrecting this thread..

My quest for movie posters has brought me here. I always thought these pre-framed posters at Blockbuster were really cool, but I've been looking at the 3 stores nearest to me for months and they just have the same crappy Nascar and other pointless ones that aren't selling. The employees never know anything and it seems like they don't have control of what comes to them.

Has any of your Blockbusters got anything new in since the fall? Also, I tried contacting the Framed Picture Enterprise manufacturers directly, but haven't gotten a response yet. Did anyone who emailed them get a response?

In my opinion, these are the nicest posters out there for their $30 list price. I've found that buying a decent wood frame for a standard $8 poster is going to run you at least $20 anyway. These are a steal, especially at the clearance prices some of you picked them up at. Just wish my Blockbusters knew what was going on and could get in more of the popular ones that sold like hotcakes when they first got these things.

Hey guys...I was searcing around for these posters and see that I am not the only one having trouble finding the ones I want. I am looking for a couple specific ones to finish decorating my basement, and I figured that since you guys have some of them I could trade ones that I have that I do not want as much.

I am looking for Friday the 13th, the original Terminator, Star Wars (any of the 3 originals) and Scarface cover.

I am willing to give up 300, Batman, Indiana Jones Temple of Doom or Sin City (Jessica Alba) for them, or buy them from someone since I like these posters too...just dont fit the theme.

I had a roommate in college that would ask for the movie posters and displays after BB & Hollywood was done displaying them.

The huge Titanic boat in the corner of the living room was bad enough. But the *full* life-size Meg Gibson/Braveheart cardboard statuette, was downright creepy.

I need the Kill Bill one and I would like the Grindhouse double feature poster and the Casino Royale poster. Anyone have them and want to trade?
I called the local BB they never heard of these? Guess I'll have to hunt around.

The BB in Lawrence, KS (home of the Jayhawks) had a very organized clearance sale in their parking lot yesterday and today.

I picked up the same type of posters of Beowulf ($5), Transformers ($14.99) and Kung Fu Panda ($14.99). They were regularly $29-$39.

FYI...they also had probably over 800 used dvds in clear jewel cases all for $5 each.

Check your locations.

I spoke to a manager at a Blockbuster store near me and she stated that ALL the wood framed posters (like the ones discussed/pictured in this thread) would be 50% off on Black Friday.

I immediately drove to the store today and she is holding six of them for me to buy on Saturday at 50% off since I will be out of town Friday. Nice service.

They had over 40 great posters including three different Indiana Jones, Dark Knight, GrindHouse Double Feature, Iron Man, Scarface, Hulk, Animal House, Good Fellas, Star Wars Clone Wars, Terminator, etc.

50% off makes these a good HT buy.

Regular prices ranged from $29-$59 (for the extra extra large Indiana Jones poster).

I believe all stores are open on Thanksgiving day.

Original one sheet posters are better - they are 27x41. More expensive but they are the actual ones used in theaters.

My original Raiders.

I am not sure what you mean by "better" but I am glad you enjoy your poster.

A lot of HT owners like the excellent deal on the BB video posters because they have a great look, rich texture and finish (not paper). And they come in a wood frame. In addition they do not reflect unwanted light from a glass/plastic cover and frame.

You definitely and instantly know by looking at the BB posters on a HT wall that they did not originate from a cardboard tube in a bin at Walmart.

Unfortunately I cannot state the same for paper posters with crease and fold marks in the typical thin glossy plastic frame. But hey..that's why we have choices.

Enjoy!

Just pointing out options in case some didn't know they could get originals.

Larger in size and they tend to increase in value beside looking great. Crease and fold marks for one sheets used in theaters prior to 1990 is typical - maybe you never been to a theater before. Reprints are typically smaller. Some of these reprint posters don't have all the artwork/credits that the originals have and the frames are not that great in some cases (not all).

I pick up my movie poster frames from Hollywood poster frames.com and they can cut the frame to your size poster (whether it's original or reprint). The one I posted is an archival frame with a UV plexi front with acid free backing . No sun reflections at all. Very happy with it since it will preserve the poster and I've seen the same frames inside the studios - quality frame.
Again just mentioning in case someone could benefit from the info.

Like you said that's why we have choices.
