Looking for Mud Rings for 1-gang (Line/Low voltage) & 4-gang (GrafikEye 3106) outlets

Where can I find mud rings to extend my single, 3-gang, and 4-gang outlets. The outlets I had used are all traditional outlets, which will accept mud ring extensions. All outlets right now are burried about 1/3" of an inch within drywall. I will also add 1" and 2" furring strips to hang GOM over acoustic treatments. So I need something that will add about 1" to 1.5" to be flush with the furring around each outlet or sconce.

My electrician said that he can provide me with 1.5" extension rings for all my standard single-gang outlets, which I think might end up working for the 1" furring strips. But he doesn't have any thing in stock for 3-gang or 4-gang outlets. My GrafikEye will be mounted on a 4-gang outlet so where can I find something that will work.

Is there a place locally or on the internet that have a wide selection of single and multi-gang mud rings?

P.S: I will be posting my long overdue Construction Thread today, so be on the look out for it

Promises, promises...

You should be able to find 4 and 3 gang mud rings from a local electrical supply store. I was able to get one from a local shop but ended up not needing it and took it back. It was pretty expensive for a mud ring $18 bucks.

These will give you 3/4s of an inch, the rest you may be able to make up with plastic spacers available at HD or Lowes.. I could only find at the most 2 gang extenstion rings of 1.5"

Just an update, I got off the phone with my electrician, and he said that the mud ring you recommended is designed to be installed on a steel back box, which is not the case here. And that I need extension rings to meet code requirements.

Another option is to tear out the existing boxes and install an adjustable boxes which can be adjusted up to 1.75" out of the wall. This option would be more costly, and result in some sheet rock damage ofcourse.

So he is coming out Friday to for the final trim and to see what can be done about the 4-gang Grafik Eye box. He will bring with him about a bunch of 1.5" Mud Ring extensions for all of the single-gang outlet boxes that are affected by the 1" furring. I think this should work for my purposes seeing how the existing non-adjustable boxes are almost 1/3 of an inch inside drywall. so by the time I add the fabric on top of the 1" furring strips the 1.5" extension should fit right in hopefully.

Looking back at it, I wish I had requested him to use adjustable boxes throughout the basement. You live and learn, not a big deal.

Didn't realize they were plastic boxes. When you said mud ring I envisioned metal boxes. Good luck.

its all good, I think we may have to tear through some drywall and repatch. no biggie. BTW, I am done sorting through and uploading some of the progress photos. So the construction thread should go up tonight when I get home from work. and I will have some pretty pictures and some ugly questions
