^^^^ I have used a fan on my 876 since day 1. I knew it ran hot, but for the price I bought my 876 brand new it was no brainer at the time. I realize that this is something I stepped up to buy and it is an excellent AVR feature wise. I also expected it to last as long as my previous Onkyo product (696). The 696 was 1/2 the price of the 876 and is still working as it should to this day. The 876 is now exhibiting board problems that many have complained about( not just a few) as some others here fail to recognize. To them I hope their 876's last as long as they want it to before they decide to upgrade. That is all I wanted from this one. That will not happen. But no one should come to this thread and decide for others that the 876 does not have faults, because it certainly does and is brought to the forefront by many. Not only in this forum but others as well. Whenever Onkyo goes back to the build quality they had in the past then I will reconsider another one. But at this time there's no way I would purchase any model from them or recommend anyone else to purchase them. JMHO. Too many other CE's out there that do make quality products for the same dollar.
