Besides the New Year's Evil that was brought up, not a single candidate comes to mind. During this year's Horrofest, I watched Black Christmas. The movie really has nothing to do with Christmas other than the fact that the story occurs around Christmas time, but if you haven't seen it.....it is definitely worth a watch. Personally, I loved it.

On a side note, now that my sister-in-law has become aware of my twisted taste in movies, she has made a point to get me movies for Christmas gifts that reflect my "interests". Last year it was Human Centipede. This year it was Imprint and Visitor Q. Haven't watched Visitor Q yet, but Imprint was very entertaining..... even though it was only 60 minutes (Masters of Horror).

Wizzack, that parade dedicated to Krampus looks like an awesome time. Some creepy looking costumes man. Nothing like dreams filled with sugarplums and hideous creatures to get the children into the Christmas spirit.

ApolloCreed, you are in for a treat with "Visitor Q". I watched "Visitor Q" 6 or 7 years ago and there are still scenes from that movie I can't get out of my head.

Any in-law that buys a horror fan Imprint and THC is OK in my book.

Visitor Q to the top of the NF queue!

*edit*

For some reason I thought this was some other movie that I passed over years ago but I now realize you guys are talking about a Miike film.

The cover art and synopsis is very disturbing....

Watched it last night. Not sure if words can explain how f'ed up this thing is. I think I got the point of it all (or at least a portion of it) once the film came to a close, but one has to question the state of mind of Mr. Miike to even come up with some of the stuff that is portrayed in the movie. This is undoubtedly the most dysfunctional family in the history of cinema. Watch at your own risk.

It should also be noted that this is not a horror movie, which is what I was expecting when simply reading the title on the box. Its more of a documentary of a severely troubled family who engage in the most vile acts that one could imagine. We even get a warm and fuzzy ending to cap off the film. Twisted, gross, controversial and most importantly.......entertaining.

I just got on dvd the uncut version of Human Centipede II. I know i didnt give it a high rating when i watched it on ON DEMAND during October, but the more i think about it, i had too high expectations and it really did have some good moments in it. Guess i am just a junkie for way out horror.

As to Visitor Q, i like that movie!!!! In fact, you guys mentioning it has me wanting to watch it again. However, i thought i had it on dvd but cant find it. I did find BAISE MOI though, forgot i had that one!!

You guys all have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!

PM me if you're interested in swapping flicks. I haven't seen Baise Moi and I'm willing to part with Visitor Q since I just watched it. Will likely have to give my wife an opportunity to see it first though. I think I'll leave out the details and let her experience it like I did.

Happy New Year Horror Fans!!!!

A little late but...Happy Friday the 13th guys!

Just got back from a 35mm showing of VII The New Blood. They had a great turnout and the crowd was into it. Diana Barrows was in attendance and did a Q&A then signing afterward. Fun times! 2 more to go this year!

I watch it every other Xmas (alternating with BATMAN RETURNS). Tho I disagree that it has nothing to do with Xmas. "Santa's snockered!" "Ho-ho-ho...s**t." (Waaaaay before Billy Bob!) The cross-cutting with the carollers sing "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," etc. Heck, it has more to do with Christmas than "It's a Wonderful Life" does!

Dude, I owe you one here....

Just got done watching the Netflix DVD....
What great fun this is!!!!!!!!
Don't walk, RUN out and get this!
This is the PERFECT movie to run after A Christmas Story (after the kiddies go to bed).
Very creative, very original.
Through out the movie, I had NO idea what would happen next.

Whatever you do (after watching the movie), don't miss the Extras.
There are 2 featurettes that are Classics; I couldn't stop laughing.

Cool! Glad you liked it. I can see this one making the rotation every Christmas. I'll definitely check out the extras next time around.

Yeah, I may have exaggerated. It was my first watch, so the parts you mention didn't stick in my mind. What I meant is that the killer wasn't dressed up as Santa or something like that.

Rare Exports, eh?? You guys have me intrigued.

fixin' for some free horror tonight and don't mind crappy audio/video then check out The Sleeper. Looks pretty cool so far.

http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/539...t-out-now-free

The Sleeper travels back to the year 1981 and follows the sorority girls of Alpha Gamma Theta, who are hosting a party for new pledges. As the new pledges arrive, so does an uninvited guest, and little do the sisters know that someone is watching their every move from the shadows. As the girls shower, study, eat and bump uglies with their boyfriends, the 'Sleeper' studies them and soon, one by one, finds the girls at their most vulnerable and murders them. Can the 'Sleeper' be stopped before there's no sorority left to pledge?

Slightly off topic but some saw this as a slasher

I didn't but I still loved every second of it. Dark and profound.

+1! I really enjoyed The Woman and Airboss is right Jack Ketchum's finger prints are all over this film. I posted about it in the Woman thread but looks like those of us that have seen it are few

Checked this out today and liked this gritty revenge tale. The bad guys were pu$$ies! lol. I can imagine an American version not lasting much longer than their first meeting. The lead character was very believable.

:thumbs up:

Yeah, checked in today and saw your PM. Sent you a reply.

The Woman does look great. Blockbuster doesn't have it, so we may end up ordering it as well.
