We are still catching up on True Blood but not a bad season. We just have last nights to watch and will be caught up. We watched 3 in a row last night.

In other news I ordered my mask today! I got the pale and asked for darker veining and a small amount of additional blooding/spatter around the mouth. ETA 10/6, just in time!

Oh wow they will customize it? Dude that's some snazzy stuff! Any ideas on how you're doing the garage?

Yeah, pretty cool... some guys I've seen had drool and other stuff but they seem to do a really nice job so hopefully mine will turn out good.

I've kind of mapped what the lay out will be for the garage, need to go to the depot and get some lumber to build some walls for the walk through. As far as theme, I'm thinking Boogeyman style things of nightmares but I've had some ideas around medical themes as well... still deciding. Medical could be cool but I kinda want to focus on the Boogeyman since I will be part of the entertainment this year so it may be more of a monster/mangled eaten body thing.

Here's a cool prop for the medical direction though!

Where does the other end of the tube go..... if you lived here I think we could be friends. Not enough Halloween stuff around here. There was a guy here about 10 years ago that did a haunted house and spent so much he went bankrupt. Lets just say for the scenery he had a full real box car from a train. Man was dedicated to his passion.

Ok, guys. I normally try to avoid shi$%ing on people's parades when they post about something they enjoy, but I absolutely have to offer my opinion in this case. My wife and I have watched every episode of True Blood since the beginning. The first 2 seasons were great as we thoroughly looked forwared to our Sunday night fix. The 3rd season was also quite good but it has been a downward spiral into oblivion from that point forward. We almost called it quits in the middle of this season simply because of the craptastic writing. Everybody has their own "mini story" now and nearly all of them are completely ridiculous. It would be different if we actually cared about the characters that these stories surround, but we don't. Focusing one second on a background story about Terry Bellefleur is nothing but desperation as far as I'm concerned. Even LaFayette (one of my former favorite characters) is growing tiresome with his newfound powers as a "medium". I mean, what happened to the dark and insidious nature of this series. Most of the show is shot in either broad daylight or brightly-lit rooms. No atmosphere left whatsoever.

Sorry for the rant here guys redface.gif. This is 2 seasons of frustration coming out all at once. Its just that my wife and I spend half the time complaining about each and every episode we watch. What used to be a Sunday night tradition (when my wife is not working) has become a last resort watch when we don't have any other options. Recently we had 4 episodes to catch up on saved to the DVR. Honestly, if it wasn't for the nudity and the time we have already put into this show, I would have checked out long ago. Its very sad that this series has turned into nothing more than a cheap, daytime soap opera. Anyway, this is just one man's opinion and hopefully I didn't offend any of you that still enjoy this show.

Oh yeah, Kenobi.....love the mask! My vote was definitely for pale. I look forward to seeing your garage project unfold. cool.gif

Ha, well last year I was at a junk yeard pulling the hood and fenders off a car to do a zombie scene with people pulled through the window and eaten on the hood but our office Halloween competition was canceled so I just did a smaller scene in my front walkway which was not as cool as it would have been.

I haven't decided on a theme yet this year but I can appreciate the train car, I'm all about having the set look legit. I also picked up a totally rusted old piece of fence and pols last year and will use those somewhere this year too. The only thing I'm worried about is having a good supply of new movies to watch... this October is not looking good so far, Hopefully IFC Midnight VOD will be a life saver.

TB has def gone down hill but I am enjoying this season more than last which I thought was crap. I'll drop HBO after the last episode next week and pick up Showtime for Dexter.

I never get tired of seeing those pics. New season of Face Off starts tonight on Syfy and they showed a commercial for a new show that uses the same premise but with movie sets. Right up your alley bud.

Is that the show where they do set make-up?

Yup. Pretty cool show. I think in September the new Set Off (or something like that) show starts. Saw the commercial and thought "I know somebody that would be great for this".
So does anyone have the word on Rec 3 yet. I watched a trailer and I'm so so on it. Does not follow the fame formula as the other 2 but the chainsaw scene looks awesome but very syfy channelish. 10 days till VHS hits on demand.

Both have had some critical reviews so I'm trying to keep expectations low. No word on REC3 but I have yet to check some of the usual import suspects I use. The other two had such a great story I was really hoping the 3rd would diver further into that either as prequel or sequel. I'll be renting V/H/S for sure!

Paging Airboss.... where's the foreign gems and indie flicks for this October... hook us up with some info buddy! I won't start cruising IFC Midnight until Late Sept:cool:

I prefer to watch the super-nature horror movie. No bloody.

To each his own, and we all have different taste, but to me, NO BLOOD, NO ENJOYMENT!!!

Good call and yes there better be a zombie set. smile.gif

Face Off kicked off with everyone doing their own version of a character from the Star Wars cantina scene. 2 of them were incredible. Looks like there's lots of cool stuff coming up this season including a challenge that had them making Alice in Wonderland Zombies and Dr. Suess characters. eek.gif

"Rec 3" is already available on Vudu and Amazon for early rental. I watched "Juan of the Dead" the other night on Vudu. It was okay but I wasn't exactly knocked out by it.
Oops, correction on Rec 3 as I miss read "Can I Stream It" but know I'd seen it for "early" rent and it is available on YouTube, iTunes and Google Play at $9.99. I wonder when the YouTube apps on a lot of the streaming players will get upgraded to handling rentals as well as HD?

I'd rather have an app for IFC Midnight rentals as I sadly discovered last night that although I have IFC HD my provider does not offer IFC Midnight OnDemand!

For those of your poor souls who are not region free mark your calendars... The Loved Ones is coming to DVD on 9/11, just in time for October. I highly recommend this movie and would say it should be a solid blind buy for anyone in this thread. It's a shame no bluray as the transfer is reference on my B locked copy.
Along those lines, has anyone seen All the Boys Love Mandy Lane?? Seems to have had good reviews and it is pretty cheap on amazon now with no date for NF or Vudu availability.

+1 on The Loved Ones.

AMBER HEARD IS IN MANDY LANE!?!? That fell off the radar years ago but now it's back on in a big way. Whoa mama! Thanks man for making it my #1 must see for 2012! eek.gifbiggrin.gif

I hit up Monstermania last weekend. The guest list was weak and not having Clive Barker was a bummer but I had a freaking blast. Not sure how but this was the first time we hung out in the bar after hours and that's where all the craziness happens. My buddy scheming on Joey Lauren Adams was a hoot (when did she get hot?). Got to BS with Norman Reedus in the back of the bar for 15 minutes until the skanks noticed he was there. At least 3 of them jammed their name/room # in his pocket before the security guy whisked him away. Meeting some of the Walking Dead cast was super cool especially Jeffrey DeMunn. Savini was all business. Doug Bradley and Ashley Laurence were awesome. Lou David from The Burning was incredibly nice and appreciative. Emma Bell loved that I knew the flick Frozen and was a sweetheart. There was a pic included with the autograph my friend paid for and he graciously gave up the photo op to me. I'm in love. Emma, if my wife ever leaves me and Amber doesn't succumb to my charm or chloroform - I'm coming for ya! wink.gif

Good times!

And now (because you knew I had to) the pics:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Male bonding or balding

My buddy and Daryl

Drunk Bollywood Michael Myers in the bar "chicks dig Michael Myers"

And some Mondo posters I got signed:

Damn that is way awesome! You seem to always get in on these sweet goings on in the area and kick ass autographed posters. How do you get wind of these things? Frozen was good, may have to watch that this year. My only bragging rights are from when I met Dan Aykroyd. He signed my Ghostbusters bluray and we traded movie lines... I said "Looking good Lewis" and without missing a beat he says "Feeling good Billy Ray" eff'n classic!
