Not horror related but Zero Dark Thirty was pretty awesome... watched that one too!

You have to admit the club scene was full of awesome, though!!!

I never thought I'd like Ghost Ship. You, sir, have just sold me on it, though....

I saw that this weekend, it was good and I wonder how much if it is 'factual'. I did like the new NVG's the Seal team was wearing and I wish I had a pair of those when I was in the military biggrin.gif.

Ghost Ship is definitely worth the watch! See Julia Margulies before The Good Wife/ER

Had a friend recommend the faux documentary, Long Pigs, this weekend. The trailer has me intrigued...... And after looking up the definition of 'long pig' (slang term for human flesh prepared as the flesh of a pig. Usually used to sell human flesh to tourists in East Asian countries), I definitely added it to my watchlist......

Ghost Ship...surprisingly okay storyline and "killer" opening scene.

I tried renting The Collector today at BB but apparently their only copy was never returned the last time it was rented. Wanted to get a refresher and give my wife a chance to watch it before we watch The Collection tomorrow. Maybe Amazon VOD has it......

Checked out Ghost Ship & it was definitely a nice surprise. Thanks, yet again, for the rec!!! Am I the only one who kept being reminded of Event Horizon though?

I think the scifi aspect kept the two separate for me but EH is a fantastic movie.

Anyone else watching Turistas on IFC tonight? Love me some Melissa George and proper organ harvesting. This was an underrated title IMO. I own it but it's only on DVD and from what I hear the B locked UK version is a pretty poor upconvert transfer.

Decent Bates Motel in episode 2. I hope it doesn't become mom/kid kill a guy and hide the body and dodge the cops every episode though. That would get old in a serial format.

I'm loving it so far!!! The Norms have me fully creeped out!!! Norman's fixation with Manga has me curious how if they will develop Ed Gein's obsession with pornography since Psycho wasn't allowed to. I also loved the throwbacks like Norma's old Mercedes, Norman's black & white tv, the music, & the 60's diner where Norma & the deputy had coffee.

The thing that worries me is that they're trying too hard to keep the audience engaged. Some scenes, such as the pot growers chasing Norman & Emma, just didn't seem to fit. Though I have to admit when Norman told Emma, "Don't even breathe. Ugh, sorry", had me rolling! I also hope they don't take the bizarro world town's people too far....... Even last night was beginning to be a little tough to swallow.

Overall, I'm hooked!!!!

Spoilers please fellas.

The Bates was pretty good last night and Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
revealed a bit more about the town! I was thrown a curve ball by the weed grow factory the kids found.
I will keep watching that is for sure!

Bates was good last night, but I'm getting confused on what direction this story is taking us (similar to American Horror Story). I suppose that is the point; however, I would hate to lose interest. I'll definitely be sticking with it for now though. Is it me or is Vera looking a little "weathered" in certain shots?

Crimson, Ghost Ship does have some similarities to Event Horizon if I remember it correctly, but EH is far superior as a whole. One of the best sci-fi/horror movie to date, IMO.

I lost interest in AHS. Not for lack of trying.

I liked AHS much better this past season than the first.

Yeah same here. I still got lost and never felt any closure.

Yeah, the last 4 episodes or so seemed kinda like disjointed add-on's. Looking forward to next season "Coven" in New Orleans... should be full of voodoo and hoodoo and all kinda weirdness.

Agreed! I was also 'digging' around the internet a while back and learned that there was 20-30 minutes of cut footage from Event Horizon. Longer scenes of the original crew 'orgy' etc. Best move Paul Anderson has done IMO.

Didn't know that. Could be cool.

From what I read (rumors) most of the negatives were destroyed/thrown away, the best I found was on youtube. Enjoy!

I find it really sad that the film wasn't saved...Love when Weir crawls down that ladder like that!

Paul W.S. Anderson's initial cut of the film ran to 130 minutes and was quite graphically violent, so much so that both test audiences and the studio baulked at the finished product. Paramount ordered him to cut the film by 30 minutes and tone down some of the violence, a decision he now regrets.

Some of the lost footage includes a great deal more of the Bosch-influenced Hell sequences and of the orgiastic video log that was found in the Event Horizon. This was shot by both director Paul W.S. Anderson and Vadim Jean, mainly on weekends.

From IMDB.com

I wish I was in the test audience because I would've given it a pass! I remember seeing this on it's opening week and I was surprised at the whole concept and surprised by how gory this movie was (for the time in 1997)

I still need to buy this on BD!

That sucks, I would have loved to have had the unmolested cut. Him crawling down that ladder was way cool. EH was on IFC I think a week or so ago, now I'm really itching to watch it again!

I usually take time to watch EH anytime that it is on..IFC plays it a lot and recently HDNet movies just shown it too.

Maybe Paul Anderson needs make another movie similar to EH and call it DEAD SPACE Ha!

I've been meaning to watch EH ever since you guys mentioned it way back. This is going to be the year. I feel it!

Adam Green tweeted today that there's 219 days 'til Halloween. Is that all?
