The link was to Netflix WI not the disc que. I canceled disc a couple years ago. For the extra cost I was able to get more than I needed at any of the 11 Redboxes in the area and on my schedule not NFs. Better to have these z-movies on WI where you don't feel burned if you give up on it after 14 minutes which is what I did with Crawspace an Australian sci-fi film that though all that was happening was an ongoing troop action on a space station. Boring, need a story guys. Maybe this appeals to shoot'em game players.

Bet you couldn't stop at just ONE.biggrin.gif

Black Bush goes well with a beer chaser.
Here is my first choice:

A hoppy summer beer partners well with BB during the heat of the day:

And a beer to keep your BB company at evening barbeques:

Damn. It seems like 99% of the movies you guys recommend are not available on Netflix streaming. mad.gif

We haven't quite reached commie status here which is why you still have Vudu and Amazon VOD to fill the void wink.gif
post #5558 of 9783
Talk about a night of FAIL! Rented the Burt Wondercrap movie, and suffered through 37 minutes before calling it quits... what a turd of a comedy effort. Then I tried to prep for cheese and watch Sharknado... sorry but that was off in about 30 min as well. I really don't see the appeal. It had some campy somewhat fun elements but the gawdawful CG, acting, and Tara Reid's face for radio were just too damn much. At least with Piranha we had Elizabeth Shue, Ving, and the great Dr. Emmett Brown to bring some pizzaz and charisma to the cheesefest and the CG while bad at least gave way to some solid cut scenes with practical effects and good gore. Sharknado was just bad... and not so bad it was fun just so bad I probably would have sooner finished Burt Wonderdump. Sorry oink, I just couldn't find the appeal here redface.gif

I tried Amazon's free trial and I didn't like it. Netflix's 1080p streaming is a noticeably better image.

Agreed but content is king and it is nice to have the option for a rental via OnDemand, Amazon, Vudu, etc.

You are absolutely right.....Sharknado is bad.
And here is the thing: it is deliberately so.smile.gif

Have you seen episodes of MST 3000?

lol

I wouldn't put Sharknado in the MST3K league. None of those movies (that I remember) were intentionally "bad". They're trying too hard to be awful but I still had fun with it. The hype & shenanigans around it were better than the movie e.g. The Human Centipede. Not ashamed to say I can't wait for Ghost Shark! tongue.gif

Got my tix for The Conjuring @ 10:30 am today. Let's try this again.

Same here on Sharknado, it tries to be bad. I normally enjoy "bad" movies but this was just all internet hype. Defending it with "spoof" isn't enough. I'll be glad when the hypetrain leaves the station.

I now have Sharknado on my DVR, and as i said, i am gonna hold it for October.

I think i will really like it, as i know what to expect. Last nite i watched half of SHARKTOPUSS, which i would imagine would be even worse than Sharknado, and i had fun with it. Would have watched the whole thing, but wifey came into the room and couldnt believe her childish husband was watching Sharktopuss!!!! mad.gif
post #5565 of 9783
I cannot urge you all enough to watch Manborg.
"The Conjuring" is as advertised. What a great movie! More than a few women screaming in a voice an octave or two above normal. Will definitely buy when it comes out so I have it for October.

Meanwhile, what the heck is in the water where everyone is coming down with something? I just recently got diagnosed with...gout! eek.gif Me of all people. Lost 16 pounds. Almost back to college weight. Workout, eat healthy, and don't drink (yeah - I know - on THIS thread.) Figured out what foods are the culprit and have been cut out. Everyone get well.

now I'm home but been checking in from multiple hospital visits since June. I've got some real life horror going on called transverse myelitis. I've gotten over 16000 mg of steroids over this time & been getting plasmapherisis treatments and hopefully they do the trick.

Best of luck to you.  My baby sister's fiance had meningoencephalitis (meningitis & encephalitis).  We battled that devil of a virus for 6 months so I understand what you mean by real live horror!

There's the problem.
Feeding my body poisons makes it strong and resilient.

6 Souls is a supernatural thriller that actually has some better scares than some of the horror films we review here. And more story than we usually get with horror films. Star Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

Dang another fellow horror guy with an illness! Hope you get better Smudge!

Since all of you guys are saying the Conjuring was awesome, I pre-ordered that bad boy and I hope it comes out in Oct!

SyFy had the Sharknado on last night and I was cracking up at all the ish going on in that movie! I kept my better half up so I had to switch up the movie to calm my laughing down! So I watched half of The Parallax View, good movie btw!

Maybe the Scarecrow is putting stuff in the water supply to make us all crazy?! I watched Batman Begins yesterday afternoon so that is why I mentioned the Scarecrow.tongue.gif

I watched this out of desperation & was very pleasantly surprised.  Really underrated, IMO.
