Cool my brain is still working tonight!

I thing the movie would still hold up and these are the comedy classics I can watch multiple times! I just saw Fast Times at Ridgemont High last week and man that movie always delivers! "Aloha, my name is Mister Hand!"

My wife is going to put this in her office to freak/annoy everyone! Everybody there does things here and there like that, but this will be pretty good at messing with people!

Sadly my ignore list is empty but then again I hang here most of the time and the bluray vs hddvd war has been over for many moons.

I settled on this:

It is great to be reminded of the days when Hanks was funny. It hold up very well but I'm biased as an 80's film superfreak.

^Agreed! Caddy Shack is probably my favorite 80's comedy.

I may still be checking it out. I know my wife and her cousin were talking about going next week. The first installment was good but it really lost steam when they started poltergeisting it up.

Yeah, he had a lot of energy before he got cool. That clip could have made it onto your insult video. smile.gif

Classic! The combination of a beautiful Phoebe and the awesome song was a slam dunk. More movies should do this today. cool.gif

Put down the Money Pit as one more title not on blu ray, but being Universal you never know.

Thanks guys! The version I finally settled on and ordered is above in the post with the Money Pit video but that all turned out cool. Should be unique if nothing else!

The Burbs is at the very top of my want list for titles not yet released on bluray (also Universal).

The 'It' Clown lives!

Last night I was flipping through the tv guide and I found out TCM was airing Total Recall. I did not know they played movies like this and they are doing it every Friday.

Finally watched the Rob Zombie vision of Halloween last night. I have a great fondness for the original film and did not view this version as trying to better it or replace it. That can't be done of course. On it's own however, I found this to be a very enjoyable watch. I did not have expectations really so that always helps. I really enjoyed the added screen time given to Michael's killings and the brutality of them. Not that I necessarily think this makes a horror movie but it really made you realize just how evil and inhuman the character is and the lapse with feeling he has. I know a lot of people don't like her but I think Sheri Moon Zombie did a good job of her role in the movie and hey, I really enjoyed seeing her shake her money maker on screen. I don't usually go for gangly skinny girls but she has something special, I can't really put my finger on it but hey, I'd hit it. biggrin.gif Anyway...if I can say anything negative about the film it would be that I felt it went a little long. The last 20 to 25 minutes seemed to drag a bit but it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the movie. I loved how huge they made Michael look and the music was great. I may be in the minority here but I liked this movie much more than I thought I would. Again, it doesn't replace the original for me in any way but is a nice companion. Now, the next movie from what I hear is a real stinker so maybe I should quit while I'm ahead?

Use the stink as a palate cleanser.

I'm with you... this movie gets a lot of hate but I really enjoyed it as you did. I agree that the end dragged a bit but not too much. My biggest gripe was with the overcooked white trash persona that was just played too over the top to be sold IMO. The breakfast conversations were just ridiculous and we could clearly see dysfunctional family without having it spelled out for use and then beaten over the head with it. If you haven't seen them some of the out takes were pretty funny but Malcolm McDowell seems a bit of an asshat.

I like the 7:29 and 9:34 marks... good stuff, the rest was meh

It's getting compliments so that's good for a first one. Even the grandmothers recognized the aspects of my kid she put in it.

Best. Dad. Ever. Looks great!
I bet your girl thinks its pretty awesome too!

Good analysis of the Halloween remake. What I liked about it was that they tried to do something interesting with the characters and back story, instead of just rolling out another artless cash grab. It took some risks instead of just doing it by rote like the forgettable Nightmare on Elm Street.

Agreed. It made Michael Myers scary again... the size, brutality, and emotional void were all rolled together well.
